In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....
ineluctable \in-i-LUCK-tuh-bul\, adjective:
ineluctability; noun
ineluctably; adverb
1. Impossible to avoid or evade, inevitable.
2. Not to be overcome by struggling; irresistible.
Linnaeus' classification scheme became popular not because it captured some ineluctable truth about nature. Rather, by the botanist's own admission, the system divided species based more on intuition than science, much as an art historian might group paintings into schools.
--"Cultivating a New Tree," Los Angeles Times, September 25, 1999
Etymology: Latin ineluctabilis, from in- + eluctari to struggle clear of, from ex- + luctari to struggle, wrestle; akin to Latin luxus dislocated. Date: circa 1623

I doubt I can. It sounds like lots of fun, but I suspect I'll be in no shape for driving. I survive these family things by getting and staying drunk.

Bring a DD from your family. Lots of fun people there. I'll try to get someone to DD.
To: dubyaismypresident; one_particular_harbour
i guess it would not be good for me to admit that he was asking you to bring someone from your family with a big chest?

I hope the governess of the state of Delaware will see the ineluctable evidence that raising cigarette taxes is a bad fiscal move. The surrounding states of Maryland, Pennsylvania and New Jersey all raised cigarette taxes this year. As did both the state and City of New York. Many of these increases went into effect on July 1.
8.5 million packs wre sold in Delaware in June. In July that number rose to 13.6 million. A nearly 60% (58.8% to be exact) increase in just one month.
The increase in sales from July of 2001 compared to this July was an equally impressive 45.5%.
anyone who can't see the folly of trying to balance budgets on one segment of society does not belong i elected office - rather in an insane asylum.
