Just copy one of Clinton's speeches
LOL!! What a great idea.

Do you recall about a week ago when a report was released evaluating the emergency response to the Sept. 11 attack? Well the company that produced that report...McKinsey...is a big advisor to my company...and they've come up with this employee evaluation program that is a royal pain.

Later....really this time.

Hey cuttnhorse, my sister keeps at me to buy some gold. Is that a wise thing to do??? I had about $4,000 worth a few years back and dumped it. I don't know if I trust anything right now. I can imagine taking a bar of gold to the store and trying to buy something!! LOL

Mo, the guy we got our house from had just moved back to Canada from Japan where he taught English for 10 years. He told me that a cantaloupe in Japan is $50.00!! I made him repeat that a few times, I just couldn't believe it. I said they must pay you awfully well then or how people live. He says the wages are high but then so is everything else.

Nah...don't buy gold...and don't listen to financial advise from me!

Actually, if you want to take a ride on the gold roller coaster, I recommend a gold mutual fund, one that includes Newmont, Barrick Gold, Placer Dome, Anglo,...this sector has out-performed the market by 10s of percent in the last year. Plus, they are legitimate companies actually producing something and pay a dividend.

Stay away from the "penny stocks" as many are scams, although their stock value can appreciate greatly. It's a risk investment but I think gold will slowly rise over the next year...probably to the $330 to $350/per oz. The mining companies' stock prices should reflect the gold price.

Buying bullion or coins is really risky and while gold coins are fun to have around, you pay a real premium over the spot gold price. Bullion is a lousy investment unless you think the whole world economy is going down the toilet and then having a little gold around would be handier than a wheel-barrow full of paper money. I don't think we're heading there.

Most of the investment houses have well-rounded gold mutual funds...Fidelity has one called Select American Gold which I think has been doing pretty well.

Remember, you didn't hear this from me.

Thanks buddy, that helps a lot. I thought my instinct was right. My sister and brother-in-law keep buying these gold bars. Probably makes them feel good. She thinks gold is going to $1,000.00 an ounce. pffft!!

Hi horsie.
Fully dressed, Gabe is 64 and a half inches tall and weighs 155 pounds. He is 12 and in the 7th grade. This will be his first year playing football and the coaches are happy to have him.
Garrett did really well last year as a freshman on an undefeated team that blew the competitors out of the water... but he wimped out this year and won't even play because he doesn't like the coach. He could have been on the varsity team, too, even though he's a sophomore. I really wish he would have played.
Oh well, I only have to attend the middle school games - not the high school games, too.

Goodness - I'd imagine the coaches' tongues are hanging out at the prospect. That is a strapping laddie for only 12. Best wishes to him and the team this season. ;-)

You need to remind Garrett how much NFL players make. (A college scholarship would be nice to!)

Good point Cuttn.

Don't forget the "chicks" angle Valerie. In fact do whatever needs be done. The vast majority of us played for coaches that we did not "like."

That's not necessarily part of the equation to success in any endeavor. And especially in high school sports.
