Still on the way to bed...how did I keep them on base? Well one of the other officers had a little dog in the BOQ and that gave me the opening...the sanitation officer inspected my room weekly to make sure the kitties were not causing any damage and that I was keeping things clean and squared away..Small price to pay to have pets in the Q when we really weren't supposed to have pets in the BOQ...

lets see,,in my whole life I have had...Thomas P. Cat I and Thomas P. CatII (both turned out to be girls but I was real little so what did I know), then there was Buttons and Gretchen, Necko-san ( when I was in Okinawa), Stokley ( yes he was a beautiful black cat), Frodo and Bilbo Baggins, Pippin, Mangas and Mingo, Mocha, The Gray Fox (aka Foxie), Spike, Scraggles, Buffie, Taco, Nacho, Missie, YumYum, and now outside there is Quigley and SpikeII that comes to about 22. How do I do it? They find me...I have an invisible sign over my house that says " Cats Nirvana" am in they move...
There is nothing quite like winning a traumatized animal over and having them trust you. It does not happen quickly it can take weeks. months and even years to gain the trust..just depends on how badly the animal has been hurt.

Not really.. when I was OIC of the WM barracks I let the girls keep a little black cat that moved in. We called her Spit Shine!

Oh quit pouting...:) female enlisted and officers alike have to go the extra mile work the extra hours, and some harassment mised in. those that are too thin skined don't make it...
Now that said..lets not get into a big discussion about that old issue...I am not in the mood to go there.

CG = Cats R Us... I have a picture(s) of a little mouse catcher we adopted in the Gulf War, she was dubbed "Ammo" since we were ammo troops. I will post some pictures later today.. we gave her to some locals when we bugged out.

Good morning, freeoples. Sorry I've not been around much, I've been so busy! Just wanted to say hello, and I'll drop by when i can.
It's going to be another HOT day in the SF Bay Area today - we're just getting into the hottest part of the year. We have an Indian summer through October. Earlier in the summer, it's cooler because we have the marine layer coming inland from the ocean that keeps things cooler. Thank God for central air conditioning!

Jump into the swimming hole and cool off at Tonkawa Falls, Crawford, Texas, when you have a spare moment.

So I found them a home on Hilton Head....gretchen stayed put but Buttons came all the way back to the air station looking for me.It's been a while since I was at Beautiful Beaufort, and I was rather young, and may not recall correctly, but isn't Hilton Head an ISLAND???

Today's Joke:
While enjoying an Early morning breakfast in a northern Arizona café, four elderly ranchers were discussing everything from cattle, horses, and weather to how things used to be in the "good old days."
Eventually the conversation moved on to their spouses. One gentleman turned to the fellow on his right and asked, "Roy, aren't you and your bride celebrating your 50th wedding anniversary soon?"
"Yup, we sure are," Roy replied.
"Well, are you gonna do anything special to celebrate?" another man asked. The old gentleman pondered this for a moment, then replied,
"For our 25th anniversary, I took Bea to Tucson. Maybe for our 50th, I'll go down there and get her."
