Ahoy mateys, please check in here at the unofficial Pirate Chapter of Free Republic if you were at Friva and saw the Pirate Invasion at least one time while at the Treasure Island Resort.

Even though I could spot some of you unsavory pirates from across a room, I didn't bother to scribble your screen names on any of my numerous receipts from Vegas.

The good news is that my camera's fine now. I just purchased shoddy batteries in Reno. IT FIGURES with a name like that.

I'll bookmark this thread and post here occasionally because Jeb Bush doesn't need me full time. LOL

I make a motion that we have no issues or ping list. What more could you want in a chapter?

If you had a bad day at the office, drop by the Pirate Thread and just try to get our undivided attention.

And, finally, I make a motion that we don't take any guff from the bandwidth police. We'll sink their battleship if they try anything.

Doin' well. Couldn't make it to Vegas this year to visit my baby brother. My t-shirts are in Vegas at the factory waiting for me to add to my web site.

The site is a work in progress but page one is definitely hoppin'. I got acquainted with California conservatives and the recall. I do California updates every Monday.

I moved in February and really like my new place, once I adapt to cathedral ceilings upstairs but no wall space. LOL How'd they do that?

I'll dedicate this year's Talk Like a Pirate Day to all the Women Pirates then and now. I'll be shoving off now. How ye be? Still a wench?

Imagine my surprise when I turned on the radio and Lars Larson announced it was Talk Like a Pirate Day on September 19th. Then, when Joe Scarborough did a segment on Talk Like a Pirate Day, I realized it was more than a fluke.

Scarborough mentioned the official web site: talklikeapirate.com. I think I'll go check it out. LOL

TALK LIKE A PIRATE DAY IS THE REAL DEAL. SEPTEMBER 19. I'll bump this ole thread to the top every year to say hi to the FRIVA pirates. (what did I learn at Friva? the main thing that sticks with me was being informed, "you are not normal". Now to me, that's a compliment!

Time to review the building codes again? I didn't have any fuel for my vehicle for Charley even though I live between two national gasoline chains. As far as wind and rain, Frances hit Tampa Bay the hardest and sufficiently scared everyone in the METRO AREA into Home Depot to buy plywood. Mine's still up but it's getting a little claustrophobic.

Maybe next week I'll find someone to take out all the wood screws... It's getting to be like when people leave their Christmas lights up all year. Some folks have both.

Except for low lying surges in St. Pete, Ivan barely caused any rain or water here.
