The future map of the Gulf of the North America, which will extend from the Great Lakes in the north, to the Gulf of Mexico in the south, is not without precedent in earth history. Yeah, it's called the Mississippi Embayment, of which the New Madrid fault is a remnant feature. Hundreds of millions of years ago, a chunk of North America broke off between Alabama and Arkansas. That is why the Appalacian Mountains end in Alabama and then resume in Arkansas as the Ouachita Mountains. They found the lost chunck a few years ago plastered onto South America. The embayment then became a low point for the central continent and filled in with sediments over the ensuing eons. The New Madrid fault is simply a relatively small fault in the region, as compared to a techtonic boundary such as the San Andreas, and is in the center of the North American Plate, not on the fringes.
Would a major earthquake on the New Madrid Fault be catastrophic? Heck yes. The formations in California are heavily fractured, so they do not transmit energy efficiently. The sediments in the Central U.S. are much more solid, and the damage from a 9.0 earthquake in New Madrid would be felt over a large area. However, that would not be sufficient to cause anything more than cosmetic geological changes - precisely because the fault is in the middle of the plate, and therefore is somewhat limited in impact to the greater plate motions.

The tsunami triggered from the drainage of the Great Lakes will move southward at a catastrophic rate, engulfing entire cities in its path as it winds its way south into the crystal blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico. First of all, I can see this guy has never been to the beach in Galveston. And second, this would be a flood, not a tsunami. He can't even get his geological terms straight. And the Great Lakes are extremely deep (with the exception of Lake Erie, but it is BELOW the Michigan/Huron basins) - they aren't just gonna burst like a dam like this guy enivision

Any way we can get this to run along the Mason-Dixon Line, permanently cutting off Washington, DC from the South?Go rent a D-9 Cat. For about 2,000 years. You've got a lot 'o diggin' to do...

Here is a map of recent earthquakes in the Central U.S.:

Note that earthquakes happen all the time. So it's easy to say that they might be increasing, because quite frankly most people are unaware of just how common they are.

I AGREE.
Have been interested in whether the above 5.0 have been increasing. Evidently not the last 2 years. Have wanted to plot the USGS stuff on Excel but haven't gotten to it.
Does the lessening the last 2 years of some higher intensity quakes indicate a locking up and building up of pressure? I don't know. But it wouldn't surprise me.
In any case--given the state of the world, I personally don't expect God's mercy to extend forever in terms of the projected big quakes. Tooooo many puzzle pieces indicate otherwise.

You may well be right.
My impression from what he pictured was like a huge bathtub sloshing over big-time. That's a bit different than a dam bursting.
Have sent my disappointments to Tim S. Will be interesting to see if he responds. He has responded to other messages I've sent him. But he often has 700+ messages to deal with.

He's been insisting for many months that the 9.0 thing was not necessarily related to New Madrid, in fact, that he didn't think it was at all.
As I've noted elsewhere, along about the end of Nov, beginning of Dec and after that huge meteor was in news reports as being blown apart by a UFO, Tim stated firmly that he believed that an "angelic UFO" did it.
He further more or less apologized for limiting God's response to prayer; limiting God's mercy and being so emphatic that the 9.0 would occur regardless.
He also stated well before the end of Dec that he felt the many 7.0+ quakes and the 8.3 quake in Alaska had dissipated the energy that would have been otherwise released in a huge quake had the huge meteor struck.
He has to answer to God for his errors. I am happy to give him grace. I have been disappointed in the quality of his writings and in his promises of documents that take a LOT longer than anticipated and tend to be much more anemic than anticipated. But, in the overall scheme of things TO ME, those are mostly small issues.

Your convictions are quite plausible.
I respect them and take them prayerfully to heart.

I VERY STRONGLY AGREE with you.
99.99% of modern "prophets" are EXCEEDINGLY TOO EAGER, to me.
And too arrogant etc. I suspect that's a major reason God is allowing them to make fools of themselves. Humility and brokenness are big priorities with God.

Tooooo many puzzle pieces indicate otherwise. We'll get some of those. Geology is cyclical and nothing in the world is steady-state. And there are far worse things that could happen to the world than a major earthquake, such as another Ice Age, a supervolcano eruption, a flood basalt or a major asteroid impact. Or, [shudder], Hillary could be elected president. So IMO concentrating on earthquakes as an indicator of end of days is probably not going to tell you much. But your opinion may vary...

Wise statement.
I just consider quakes one of a diversity of data.
But, having lived through some interesting ones in Taiwan--and given their nature--fairly dramatically and quickly destructive--and being specifically mentioned Biblically--they are interesting to keep tabs on across the spectrum of sources about them.

Oh man. It's that Snotgrass guy. Should have figured.
I wouldn't recomend sending a money donation. LOL.

Oh, I can be charitable. But these days, not often with money. Being on unpaid sabbatical and taking care of one's Alzheimer's mother full time is not exactly a way to get rich and have lots of income to do anything with!
Thankfully, I have food, clothes and shelter. That's enough. God will have to meet Tim's needs through others!

Have actually thought of that significant decrease in brainless ones.
But a lot of others would meet their Maker earlier than they'd planned.

JUST HAD AN INSIGHT for prayer . . .
IF as so many contend, the huge quakes are coming and the Chinese are coming to California in an invasion--we should pray that the big quakes happen precisely at the most destructive time to the Chinese troops newly established on the coast of California!
Great way to pray given all the givens.
