Good morning everyone!
In national news, the President continues, much to the media's annoyance, his Crawford, Texas, vacation.
Bush says he's listening to differing voices on the Iraq question. [Presumably the media feels reassured about this...]
Baseball players have set Aug. 30 as strike day if significant progress with the team owners hasn't been achieved by then.
Locally, more rain yesterday for our parched area, and
a police officer, shot and killed in the line of duty, was buried with moving tributes and ceremony on Friday.

I have always like Julia Hutty...she is upfront and not afraid to tell it like it is.

Morning all. I won't be around much today. I've got a lot of stuff to do to get ready for next week, and then I've got the 5 hour drive. I will miss being on FR.
Everybody have a wonderful week, and I'll try to post late tonight. If not, then I'll be back Thursday or Friday.

In my day in law enforcement in the south, I have heard some strange sayings and I am going to use one of them now. When you talkded bad about someone it is known as 'talking all underneath my clothes'. Bout time for OUR President Bush to start 'talking all underneath their clothes' to some of his critics.

Say, you staty safe, ya hear?

Time for Church Prep, so, off to shower, shave, shine shoes, see you after church, after I get back from 'the farm', just want to go up there and just look at it for a spell.

Nita, thanks for sending a good morning ping to everyone ... very helpful.
kassie, your thoughtful comments are always such an encouragement. Thank you! :)
DJ, thinking of you and keeping your dad covered in prayer.
illstillbe, what a shame that Sparkles had more seizures. :(
I was so hoping that the first time was just due to the chewing of the willow branches. Prayers for you and your precious pup.
/john, take care and stay safe.
gc6, Raven, Miss Marple, All, have a wonderful day. We're getting ready to leave for church here, too, so see you later.

Hey, we'd appreciate prayers for my niece's brother-in-law who was in a serious car accident this morning and is in the trauma center in a Nashville hospital. My niece's husband, who lives near us, is his only sibling and they are quite close. Our Sunday morning was thrown into disarray this morning when we heard about it as my oldest daughter had to stay home to babysit my sister's grandkids so she could play in church while daughter and son-in-law went to the hospital.
On another note, I have more to say about the effect of public school on my kids. My wife told me last night at dinner that our first-grader said that the other kids are already talking about girlfriend and boyfriend and one of the girls said to a boy, "You just want to have sex with me." My jaw dropped open when I heard that 6-year-olds talk like that. It took a little longer for my wife to register alarm, but the more she thinks about it, the more it bothers her.
Now we're wondering if opening a Christian school here might be one reason God had us move here. We know there is support for a Christian school from at least one pastor and presumably several churches. Any thoughts?

I just saw the most incredible video on CNN!!!!!
They have been given Al-Qaeda training video tapes which they will feature all week in a series.
Guys this one tape will blow you away....they found a way to make a chemical agent AIRBORNE....they show on this tape the gassing of a dog...poor thing!
In one tape they will show how Al-Qaeda would attack a urban center.
This stuff will shock you!!!!
Tapes....

Ciao Bella....it's 9 already..everyone must be at church or sleeping in late. I would have checked in by that time, but we couldn't connect to our ISP this morning. I tried calling them because I know they have 24/7 tech support, but just got a recording without an option to connect to the tech support. Presumably if you know who is working and what their extension is you can connect, but if you're Joe Nobody and call in for help, you don't get it. That's life in samll-town USA, I guess.

I just figured being sunday and all people were busy...I like the idea of you starting a Christian School...wish I could afford it for Chaos....speaking of which, she isn't feeling to well right now, running a fever, achy all over, runny nose, sore throat..UGHHH. She has been sleeping off and on through the day so I will leave for the store soon for those home remedies.

Vouchers sound pretty good for your situation, huh?
This morning in Sunday School I was very happy to have a talk with a local teacher who has NOT joined the NEA or their local affiliates and who is a supporter of vouchers. She says she has to be careful about who she talks to as most teachers are already pressuring her to join the union and would never accept her support of vouchers. Education in America is certainly not about finding solutions, is it?

Oops, gotta run. We're going to my parents' place to make Chinese food with some old friends from China who are coming this afternoon. I plan to also invite those two boys who just moved from China.

SY, perhaps the school is the best idea and one driven by God's hand. Pray about it and talk to the pastors. You would need to check with the state about requirements, but I think you have been givien a message, loud and clear!
It is my experience if someone steps up to the plate with an organized plan, you will find that there is a lot of support. We have several Christian schools started in this area, some Baptist-oriented, one Presbyterian, and some non-demoninational ones. There is a real hunger for this and I will bet in your area it would be a phenomenal success.

They have nerve gas....and then there's the chatter about undefined enemies having cruise missiles --- the world's getting smaller.
To: The Raven
I missed the cruise missile story you have a link??
