In the "sorta funny" catagory, the kids in the class that I'm in are getting their orders to their bases now. One girl asked the instructor if he knew anything about the base to which she had been assigned.

Deep breath.... He told her that a lot of people at that base have been deployed to somewhere in the middle east in support of our actions there. She instantly broke down crying.

I almost feel sorry for her, but didn't she understand that she was joining the MILITARY? You know, those people that go where the fight is? LOL! It was a growth moment for her, I'm sure.

I don't know how well it works, but I have been told by some of our world travellers at my work that standing in the bright morning sun-rise for a while helps to reset the circadian clock somehow. I will be trying it on the morning of the 7 Sept.

Thanks. I intend to have a great time. I'm considering it an expenses-paid vacation with some scheduled boy-scout type training activities. And it's in a really neat place, from what I've been reading.

I should be pretty safe, I don't drink to excess, I don't chase skirts (he said, the day that Trill is at her concealed handgun class), and I'm pretty careful to watch my surroundings.

I'm thinking of it as a two week shopping trip/cultural exchange with a little work and training thrown in. Grin!

All thoughts of which one stole the rump roast off the counter were forgotten, I think ... in your *joy* just to be with them again.

I was thinking today how serendipitous ... it is that *sparkles* came here to me and Old Soul ... for Old Soul watches over him ... guards him ... and when the younger is deep in the throws ... Old Soul stands calmly by ... waiting for his pal to return. 'Tis true ... He does work in mysterious ways ...

HAR! I am always wondering about those lurkers who never talk ... what they think when a topic takes on a life of its own ... me ... bringin' Him into a discussion about my pups ...

The one seizure was scary, Jemian ... for I had him by the collar ... thinkin' he was done ... and thought to steady him ... when it started again and he ended up wingin' us both onto the floor and into the table ... we both were discombobulated when it was finally over.

The seizures are very scary. I don't know if things have changed much since I had my collie, but there just wasn't much I could do for him. I would only make sure that he was lying on his side so he wouldn't choke on his tongue and put something soft and padded under his head so he wouldn't injure it in the process.

As far as school goes, I have adopted a policy of non-agression, but firmly standing my ground. I don't seek compromise as readily as I once did.

Less than a year later, and I'm back in the service, and out of the country, just as I prayed. I should have specified a country to go to, I suppose. LOL!
