I don't remember it, but certainly possible. I moved back to Texas in 96 after being lost in Florida for 30 years.

You would think Nancy disGrace wouldn't keep repeating the same lies. After all, she has enough lies to alternate. That would really boost their ratings; causing folks to tune in and see which big fat lies she's going to tell today.

I really really dislike Nancy disGrace. Does it show?

Okay Kim, you do that, check the ME's testimony in the trial, then come back and show us you are interested in the truth. If you want to save yourself some time and headache, CTV posted the estimated PMI ranges for each expert, and you'll find the ME's among them -- ten days to six weeks on their graph.

I'll give you a fair chance. So far you've shown you only believe the mummy guy and Dusek and what bits you can pull out of context to prove Dusek's self-contradictory theory. If you're truly interested in the truth, you'll show it, and I'll watch for that. I'll even say I can understand if you don't want to believe what the TOD evidence shows, as I didn't -- it's not pleasant.

Until then...

Does anyone know off the top of their head the day the medical examiner testified in front of the jury?

Yup, I thought the same. They do serology on the dog blood, but not on the jacket or RV carpet "stains." Could have been drool for all we know. Still, proves Danielle was, at some time, in physical contact with the RV and the jacket, unless one goes for the "cops planted it" theory.

Come to think, the body would have almost had to have been wrapped in something, regardless of exactly how or when that poor girl died. I'd think that anyone transporting any sort of corpse, for any purpose whatever, would cover the remains somehow, just on the off chance of getting pulled over for a burned out tail light and having the cop get curious. So,refresh my memory, and help me brainstorm. Danielle wasn't very big,and whatever she was wrapped up in wouldn't necessarily be too big either. Can anyone make anything out of this line of thought?

I'll bet that shin was approaching the dog at about 80 mph.

Nothing was PURPOSEFULLY taken out of context and I do not recall you showing where I did...my apologies if you did show me and I've simply forgotten.

This is simply a discussion, it's NOT a contest. I've changed my mind on issues in this case, have waited before making decisions about certain issues in this case, and am still undecided on certain issues. I would suspect you are in the same boat. If you are completely decided on all issues in this case, you are very lucky..

I think that why it's so hard to understand is the mummification factor---none of the expert witnesses with the exception of the anthropologist have spent that much time on mummifed bodies in that condition. Unless someone can show different.

Kim, mummification is a natural part of decomposition in some cases, and is not all that rare. I will guarantee that most ME's have seen at least a couple of cases during their tenure.

I go for that unmentionalble theory, becuase there is LAB QUALITY DNA, but no blood. Your mileage may vary.

and to add to your thought, don't you think it just a little strange that the forensic evidence was ever so nit-picked through?

Well then ... if the body were placed in a refrigerator, that could very well explain one of my theories - the one that says the Demon did it and that the stain that was cleaned up has a more ominous explanation than dog pee! It could also explain why the Demon was so violent with that dog. It may have been trying to protect Danielle.

Well, one can get lab-quality DNA from ten-year-old spit on a napkin. I'm not saying the "unmentionable theory" can't be a valid one, just that it could be either, actually. She could have been in the RV at some earlier time (quite plausible) or the DNA could have been planted. I don't think it necessarily needs to be one or the other, I persnally go with the theory she was in the RV at some earlier date. Doesn't mean I'm casting aspersions on the other theory that the DNA was planted.

Testilie: Definition; A curious but well known (although not acknowleged) condition where an otherwise honest LE officer will, while on the stand, repeatedly recall previous events much differantly than the way things actually happened.

In the interest of justice, of course. Also known as "evidence enhancement", i.e., "we know he did it, but the jury won't get it if we just state the facts".

BTW, you mentioned the VD's buying a new house. Whatever happened to that story? And remember the report that said they could spend the money they got to find Danielle any way they wanted to? Even though she'd been found. What garbage people!

Well, it's a strange case, no? I can't help but wonder if they would have been so quick to arrest DW if they'd already had Faulkner's findings.

First few days. They replayed his short testimony today ..... he did say 10 days to 6 weeks based on his overall observations of the body. And Crier said, "see that's real science, not that junk bug science". The ME himself asked that the bug guy be brought in to narrow down the timeline!!!!!!

The most curious thing to me is why this case stirs such emotion from middle aged white men. One can only imagine.

I'm a middle aged white man. One of the reasons that this case stirs emotions in me is that just possibly,There but for the grace of God go I. I used to travel a great deal for work, and would spend fairly long intervals-anywhere from 3 to 6 months-living in hotels. One of my private nightmares was that I'd be working somewhere and something very ugly(like the VanDam nurder)would occur, and occur just before the elections. I don't know about you,but I don't have any problems imagining a local district attorney-who happens to be up for re-election-ordering the local police chief to,"ARREST SOMEONE,AND I DON'T GIVE A DAMN WHO YOU ARREST!"
