I love Madelyn Kahn too - she was so funny and talented. And another favorite - Myrna Loy - she always struck me as so polished, confident and funny but she couldn't stay married - I think she had 5 husbands.

JL - what are you farming? and where? I thought the only thing that grew in the Hill Country was rocks and cactus and peaches and rattlesnakes -- oh, and people - seems everyone's moved to Kerrville. (rats!)

Priceless!

AN uninhibited aide to Sen. Hillary Clinton was thrown out of the Ritz-Carlton in Battery Park City the other night after stripping down to her bra in the hotel bar. Kara Hughes, Clinton's director of economic development, was having drinks at the hotel's 14th-floor Rise bar Friday at about 8 p.m. She went outside to the open-air patio where, our witness reports, a guy she was chatting with suddenly doffed his dress shirt.

Hughes answered the bare-chested challenge by unbuttoning her blouse and tossing it on the ground. One of her red-faced friends grabbed the discarded top and quickly ushered the bra-clad Hughes back inside.

"It appeared to be some sort of dare," our source says of the strip-off. "First, this Wall Street-looking guy she was having a very animated conversation with took off his shirt, and then she took off hers. I'd say about 60 or 70 people saw her do it. She was getting pretty loud, so once she took off her shirt, everyone noticed."

Moments later, a wobbly Hughes re-emerged on the patio, with her blouse back on - but not for long. "She started to take her top off again," reports our witness. "It was about halfway to three-quarters of the way off when two hotel security guys came up to her and dragged her off.

"I didn't see her after that. I guess she got thrown out of the hotel."

The thirtysomething Hughes, whose duties include working with local businesses affected by the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center, did not return calls for comment. Clinton spokesman Philippe Reines told us: "We don't comment on stories about staffers' personal lives."

More reasons to dislike Susan Sarandon, here. (Who does she think she is, Leonardo DiCaprio?)

More freaky newlywed news (from Page Six):

NEWLYWEDS Nic Cage and Lisa-Marie Presley didn't make any new friends at Moby and David Bowie's pre-concert party in L.A. Monday night. ....Cage instructed the couple's bodyguards to clear a 10-foot radius around their upstairs banquette. One of the musclemen asked Moby himself to move on, to the techno titan's consternation. He refused, and complained the newlyweds were "total freaks."

More news from America's sweetheart:

Chelsea Clinton and stylist Derek Kahn met up at Da Silvano on Monday to talk about her serving as co-chairwoman for the Riverside Drive Rehabilitation Project. [I'm sure she can fit it into her busy academic schedule] The two hit it off so well, Chelsea invited Derek to Martha's Vineyard to celebrate her dad's birthday on Aug. 19. Daily News

Sounds like Kara Hughes is a former BILL Clinton staffer and hasn't made the full transition yet.

Sounds like Bill Clinton wishes Kara Hughes were, uh, on his staff (or something).

Every week is farmer's week as far as I'm concerned, proclaims lodwick from his command center.

And we whole heartedly echo the sentiment with every meal!

Morning there - our corn and soybean efforts are in northern Iowa. The rocks, cactus, cedar, and live oaks are here in the Hill Country.

Kerrville is overrun with rich dim/libs - way pricey and too artsie/craftsie for my taste.

Lotsa folks my age cashing in their chips and moving out to the country to their ranchettes or gated retirement communities.

Pathetic and desperate Democrat alert:

Concerned about Gov. Pataki's monopoly on Sept. 11 commemorations, the state Democratic Party is preparing to air a special TV ad Sept. 10 and 12 honoring the heroes and victims of the World Trade Center attacks.

Under the party's tentative plan, the 30-second tribute ad would show top New York Democrats - including gubernatorial hopefuls Carl McCall and Andrew Cuomo - reading excerpts from the Gettysburg Address. In that regard, the ad would be identical to the official Sept. 11 anniversary ceremony, which is to feature Pataki reading the renowned Abraham Lincoln speech. full story.

Look for the bare necessities, the simple bare necessities.
Forget about your worries and your strife.
I mean the bare necessities,
Old Mother Nature's recipes
That bring the bare necessities of life.
Was she trying to demonstrate MACRO or MICRO economics with her assets?

First of all 8pm is WAY to early to start undressing in public - way too early.

I'm beginning to think that if a person perceives a need for either a spokesperson or a bodyguard they're a nut job.

Time for me to make another attempt at work - yikes. bbl

A super day to everyone.

I have been searching for the pictures from the DNC Party Bus that I heard about yesterday on Hannity. (yes Endeavor I listened, but, but only because the only other choice on the radio here is some freak named Schnitt)

Hannity had a recording from this party bus with Terry McAullife and Jennifer Palimeria (sp?) where they gushed about "wild things going on on the bus, leather couch that streched all the way around the inside, mirrors all over and TWO fully stocked bars."

One of them said there'd be pictures of all the fun on the DNC website. I checked and nothing so far. Anxiously waiting!

The two hit it off so well, Chelsea invited Derek to Martha's Vineyard to celebrate her dad's birthday

Mountaineer, you don't suppose Ian is about to be history herstory (in keeping with all things feminazi) do you?
