I bought the DVD of Lord of the Rings at Target last week - with coupons it came to about $12. It is worth it... a wonderful movie, very beautiful to watch. My kids love it (surprise!)
To: ValerieUSA
I heard it was good .. my girls don't want to watch it because they say it's scary looking
I told them I would watch and let them know

The beginning of the movie is so pretty and charming, it will capture their attention and they will want to follow the rest of the story - it does have some scary parts, though. It's really good for older children and adults. Your redneck husband will even like it.
To: ValerieUSA
I think he'll like it .. but the girls I don't think .. they get scared at anything that looks dark
A couple of years ago I had to taken them to a church down in Philly .. one of those old cathedral type ones with the big organs playing hymns and it scared the daylights out of them
Took me weeks before I could get them into a church again .. LOL
