In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....

To the Renaissance, they [the Middle Ages] were nothing but a dank patch of history, a barren stretch of time between luminous antiquity and an equally refulgent present.
--Justin Davidson, "On the Record," Newsday, January 19, 1997
Etymology: Latin refulgentia, from refulgent-, refulgens, present participle of refulgEre to shine brightly, from re- + fulgEre to shine. Date: 1634
I hate to disappoint you but it is not one of us together, it is only one that I took when we were together.
I will try for together the next visit.
That is very nicely put, and true.
I am from the extreme northeast - Vermont - home of real liberalism: I live and operate on the front lines here. My husband, TigersEye, is from Colorado, and we both love the west and hope to travel (if not return entirely) that way again someday.
When I travelled out west previously, my goal was to see all the national parks. I took only secondary roads, or dirt ones if I thought I could do so without getting lost! I am anything but a city girl. Even Boston is too crowded, too commercial for my taste.
Now, if Free Republic held a convention in the Rockies, with cabins or tent sites for us all, with meetings around the campfire or the pond or out on the shooting range, well, that would be grand, and Tiger and I would sacrifice much to attend!
My use of "y'all" is purely an affectation: I've been a "Vahmontah" (I do what I want ta) my entire life. (:
Ditto, though I do prefer leather.
You do, of course see the difference, Doncha?
LOL, Wolfgangs name was chosen before he was even conceived. There was little discussion, as I do not tolerate dissent. The other two we discussed, but in the case of #2 Son, we had two choices, and since I absolutely refused to name him after me that was easy, and the third was named for her, so I can call her Jr. LOL.
Good Morning EOD....
You're such a talented student. ;-)
The monsoon season is now leaving Arizona. My seasonal allergies here (wet, hot air, dust and mold) are getting under control. I'll be back to my refulgent self again in a few days. LOL!
