Donald Duck is blind, according to long-time friend M. Mouse who reported the tragedy to these reporters today. "He had suffered from ducklouma for some time, finally succumbing to total darness. It's a sad day for the Duck family."

"This is the end result of the systematic pollution of earth, air and water by the Bush Administration," PETA spokesman Pat MaWeeney charged in a hastily-called news conference. "Expect more of it--blind bats, fish, you name it--all because of Dubya. He doesn't care about wildlife. All he cares about is whether his wretched house-dog poops in the Oval Office. It's pathetic!"

President Bush was not available for immediate comment.
