AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 561) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | August 4, 2002 | All of Us

Posted on 08/04/2002 4:30:44 AM PDT by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter and we will not fail! [President Bush]

Good Morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

In a closed-door meeting with Secretary Rumsfeld, the head of the US Special Operations Command reportedly discussed a series of agressive covert operations to conduct against Al Qa'eda.

Otherwise, not much news of import.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Hunting season starts in 3 weeks

Dove season starts on the 1st of September. For some reason this year, the dove are enormous. Probably 20% larger than normal years. I'll miss the season this year, but my neighbor promised me some dove for the freezer. Mmmmm.

Do you guys hunt bear? I've eaten bear a couple of times, and I liked it ok. Not as good as an elk steak, but ok.

I was born here and I wouldn't live anywhere else in the world. (Although Hawaii seems nice about January). How is your garden this year? We lost most of our perennials over the winter and have been working hard to re-establish them.

My daughter is the same way, /john. She rarely gets sick ... and has no patience when she is.

LOL! Sockin' you with tons of questions today. When you have time ... how are your tomatoes doing?!

Most important ... how's your Dad?! I think about him daily ...

I should have mentioned Dad. He started radiation/chemo this week, and he seems to be doing ok with it so far. He's been blessed with no nausea.

The tomatoes are just bushes at this point. I've not had time to do anything with the garden this trip.

It's time for me to shut this computer down, and get the truck packed up for the trip. I should be back on-line by about 9pm CST. Everybody have a great day.

/john

I'm a moose hunter, good lean meat and a lot of it. I dont eat bear. Up here where the diet is mostly fish, bear meat tastes like rotten salmon, even when prepared properly. Moose on the other hand, are vegans and taste wonderful. The best tasting game here by far is mountain sheep. They however, are a lot of work and expensive to hunt (fly in and/or horses)

My garden ...

Species ... this is a classic example of having to let something go, if you want to pick something up ...

If I still had my business, my gardens would be dead ... for the heat and lack of rain. But I have been able to baby them ... and it's been fun to garden just for me. In addition ... I've rediscovered that special kind of peace which can only be found when working your own little corner of the earth. *grins*

Plus ... there is a very real chance that Ehrlich will be my next Gov.! HA!

I am back. I lost the computer for a while so that husband could type a letter in application for a MINING JOB. (I knew it, I knew it, just as I thought, seeing that rescue awakened the desire to go underground again....sigh!).

I am not enthusiastic about this, but I am going to follow my policy that I keep with my daughter. I will not be saying anything...perhaps it will come to naught.

I seem to be yelling a great deal lately. *grins*

Now ... we need to figure out a way to get your dryer fixed ...

You can't do it all
Though your heart says that you can
Don't listen to it.

My pasta-fagooley friend ... I am planning on making homemade tomato soup next week ... I will give you casualty reports as soon as they start coming in ...

Dryer is next on the agenda.....to be quite honest..It goes quicker for me at the laundromat...then waiting for 4 or 5 loads to finish....at the laundromat it takes me under 2 hours...while at home it goes almost all day....but that will be the next repair...

This is beyond strange, Miss Marple ... I was going to ask you about this very thing today ... for I had taken note of the comment made by your husband, "I miss mining" ... but I thought, ... no ... he was only moved by the incredible sentiment of the moment following the rescue.

YIKES!

I've a friend whose husband works on the Bay Bridge ... all those feet and feet and FEET up in the air ... in the direct opposite direction your husband wishes to head ... if he is even five minutes late coming home ... she nearly shoots him.

Ok. What do you want us to *pray* for?! Tell us. We'll do it.

RE: Oregon fires....we live on the very north coast of OR - actually only a mile from the ocean. The fires are south and east of us - several hundred miles away. We have had a long dry spell but it started raining here about midnight last night and we have showers now, so thankfully, our drought here on the coast is broken.

Well, I don't know what to pray for, even. His job he has now is lucrative, close to home, and the people he works with are quite nice.

But mining does get in the blood. I cannot explain it, but it just does.

I don't like to see him unhappy, but I am worried about him going underground again.

I guess I will pray that God shows us which way to go.

I am, as you can see, sort of befuddled about this.

By the way, one of my nephews is an iron worker. I don't like that career choice either. I am basically a feet on the surface, flatlander person.

I guess I will pray that God shows us which way to go.

Then we will be *praying* that you have peace in your heart no matter which direction you end up going.
