And, the family does not want to trigger any hostility toward Liz by the alleged abductor (thinking he has a weapon), which is why every statement is so carefully parsed?

And, that's why Ed Smart has decided just in the past couple of weeks to publicly focus on Ricci as a possible suspect (even though he absolutely refrained from it early on), to let the alleged kidnapper think the heat is off him?

Getting back to what we were talking about, your post #71, I positively believe Ed Smart is using Ricci to throw the kidnapper into feeling safer.

Heaven knows where he & Elizabeth are. He'd have to have money wherever they are.

One thing, I feel better now about Ed's strange t.v. appearances, the letter, fax, e-mail, etc.
