AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 558) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | August 1, 2002 | All of Us

Posted on 08/01/2002 4:02:09 AM PDT by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter and we will not fail! [President Bush]

Good Morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

In testimony before the Senate, a former Iraqi nuclear scientist said Hussein would be able to manufacture three nuclear bombs by 2005.

There is an intense debate, according to the Washington Pravda, going on inside the Administration on how best to topple the current regime in Iraq.

The Pentagon announced that Hammas is looking into ways to use chemical weapons with their terrorist bombers.

Airline are announcing a reduction in the number of flights on September 11, 2002 - noting that many Americans are not going to want to travel on that day.

Republicans intend to tie the issue of Iraq into the necessity for drilling in ANWR, saying Saddam makes it necessary to improve our domestic sources of oil.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

gc, the stabilizing posts should be about 30 feet apart, and the steel posts in between about 10 feet apart. The fence itself should be at least 3 feet high, with 3 strands of barb wire running across the top. If you run the mesh wire all the way around your acerage, use 12" mesh, so if the goats do get their heads through, they can get their heads back. Check on "field wire", it has the 12" mesh at the top and the size graduates downward in size. If you use 48" high wire, you will probably need only 1 strand of barb wire running across the top. If you have a predator problem, you might want to put 1 strand of electric wire about 1 foot on the outrigger outside of the wire mesh fence. The wire mesh fence comes in 300 foot rolls and runs about $80.00 here. In addition to the electric fence for predator control, we use llamas, (our boys), donkeys and great pyrennes dogs.

As a non-expert, I suggest getting some Spanish mamma goats and crossing them with a good Boar pappa. The reason I suggest this way to start, is because with Spanish goats, it takes 15# of feed for one pound of gain, and when you cross with a Boar, it takes 7# of feed for 1# of gain. Be sure to treat for internal parasites in February. For worming we use Safeguard, but there are a lot of good products on the market, so check with your county agent. The best time to breed your animals is in September thru October. Gestation period is 150 days. Last 50 days of gestation the mamma needs twice the feed as she did the first 100 days. Cotton seed and range cubes are a good source of protien, as goats need a good source of protien at all times. Keep a mineral block out constantly and if you buy feed in a sack, be sure it is pelletized. Make sure the goats have a good supply of fresh water at all times, as they drink a lot especially when they are lactating.

Goats are agile and can climb, crawl and jump just about anything. They are flightly, they can pack together very quickly when frightened or stressed and smother. Goats will move toward freedom and follow one another and move toward other goats. Goats like lighted areas, do not like dark barns and they don't like rain. Because they can "pack" together, rounded curves areas are better than corners. Another thing, when in a large pasture goats will travel into the prevailing wind. So if you lose track of them sometime, remember this little tidbit.

This is about all I know about goats gc.

Mozie, we're even :)

I've never had cheese curds, and I guess you never had a mater sandwich :)

It has to be a big, ole garden grown tomato, still warm from the ground.

It's eaten on fresh bread w/mayo & salt/pepper.

Bet gc has had his share of them :)

Well. My day is almost over. I calmed myself down enough after drinking my tea to gather myself back together. I put ice on the toes, I think they'll be okay. One good thing: I will not be the one running after Princess Cameron of Horn next week in S.C...heeheehee.

Ok. So....the rest of the day went like this: I turned off the TV's for ONE HOUR. We went to Walgreen's. At 2:00pm we got back. I forgot to feed them their lunch (oh well they didn't die) so they then ate their lunch. At 2:30 they turned on the Playstation and began playing again. I told Mark and Jackie that they had 30 minutes to play it and then their TIME WAS UP because Michael wanted to watch the Animal Planet. At 3:00pm, Jackie said...."oh, I just need to jump over this one thing....." and Michael went over and turned off the game. Repeat what happened earlier when Mark kicked Michael and Michael called her fat. That was IT. I counted to 500 really really fast and then I said:

"THAT IS IT! I HAVE HAD IT! MARK..GET IN YOUR ROOM, MICHAEL GET IN THE BACK ROOM, JACKIE LAY DOWN ON THE COUCH. AND DON'T ASK ME WHEN YOU CAN GET UP BECAUSE THE ANSWER IS NEVER. YOU WILL NEVER GET UP OFF OR OUT OF THE BEDS. UNTIL I HAVE TO LET YOU. IF YOU NEED TO USE THE BATHROOMS, FINE. BUT I AM SICK AND TIRED OF THE SCREAMING, THE YELLING, THE FIGHTING, THE NAMECALLING, THE NOISE. NOW ALL OF YOU JUST BETTER DO WHAT I SAY OR TOMORROW THERE WILL BE NO TV, NO BIKE RIDING, NO NOTHING! DO YOU UNDERSTAND? I AM THE ADULT, AND YOU WILL LISTEN TO WHAT I TELL YOU TO DO; DO NOT ASK ME WHY, THE ANSWER IS BECAUSE I SAID SO! NOW LAY DOWN AND KEEP QUIET!!!!" Jackie fell asleep on the couch, Michael read a book, Mark got caught in his closet trying to get a game down but I put an end to that.

So all in all, the day ended well. ;-)

Night, Dog.

Mozie, you going to Mel's movie? I think I have to wait until Monday. :-(

The Dana Carvey movie...Master of Disquise... sounds funny. May go to that, too.
