I get overcome with the 'aweness' thingy watching the films coming back to earth from space. Guess there are times I'm actually jealous of astronauts....but I still prefer my feet on the ground.

I can see where they would have a higher sense of 'self worth' ... LOL, the cousin in Ohio who has a private pilot's license is 'stuck on himself'!!!

Alas, as you suggest, perhaps one or two or perhaps three or four of them will sort of swagger in here and set the record straight about just how ordinary, how humble, how unassuming and how unpretentious jet jockeys really are!

Course, they'd have to issue a BS ALERT 5 minutes ahead of time! ROTFLMBO! Think I'll hang out for a while.....jes in case, mind you, cause I ain't holding my breath! :)

I love flying just so I can look out the window, I never had the concentration or the awareness level it takes to become a pilot. I sure wish blimps were still around for long distance transportation when your not in a hurry...

My beer supply has been drained (twice). I am off to my sista's house for pizza and a screening of Blackhawk Down.

How did the driving lessons go? did you learn anything? LOL!

I think all the video games throw off kid's sense of what it's really like to drive. I'm a good driver, but I can't play a driving video game no matter how much I practice.

The concept of letting off the accelerater when going into a corner will lose you points in a video game. The digital world is so much different than the real world!

Flying is not my thing. Unless it is in the car flying close to the ground. :)

The first time I ever flew was from Phoenix to LA. My future husband was my boss and had bought me a first class ticket for a Christmas present to see my kids who were with my parents while I was breaking away from an abusive marriage situation.

There was only 2 people in first class besides the stewardess....I don't know nothing from nothing about the flight. I held onto the arm rests the whole time with my eyes closed. Whenever she would come and ask if I wanted this or that, I'd shake my head or squeak out the words "no thank you ma'am".

And when that sucker dropped its landing gears I let out a yelp....the stewardess was soooooooo sweet--she explained exactly what would happen.

That is one vacation I never wanted to end--I didn't want to get on that plane and head back! LOL
