I was just in Staples and they told me that they needed "proof" that I homeschooled! They wanted a card that says I homeschool. Where we live there is no card that is distributed to parents. The laws in AZ are quite lax.

We belong to a Resource Group which arranges field trips, discounts to museum memberships etc. for its members. We got a membership card from them and used it to get discount cards at Borders, etc.
We sent in our letter of intent to homeschool by certified mail with return receipt requested. It is a good thing we did, because we never heard from the School Dept. and that was the only proof we had that they even knew about us. That's all right; the less I hear from them, the better! I'm fixing to send in our letter for this year. I'm hoping the same thing will happen as last year!

Are you a member of HSLDA? That might help. Or you could make your own school letterhead and use it for proof.

Do you belong to HSLDA? I've used that card for proof of homeschooling at Barnes and Noble.

Staples managers all seem to be cut from the same cloth.....nastiness......on just about every question or problem.
