When all the banks were failing, floundering, merging, and generally going nuts in the late '80s, I discovered that the USAA company in San Antonio also had a bank.
They don't do any advertising since their main customers are military officers and dependents who need insurance services. The bank is the number one rated bank by J.D.Power's rating service.
Check their site at usaa.com for more infomation, if your bank seems more like an enemy, than a friend. JL
