Actually, it is pretty cheap considering the high heat and humidity we have.

The oddest thing happened earlier this week. We had a REALLY severe thunderstorm and the power was off for about 6 or 7 hrs.. While the power was out, the lamp on my esk glowed periodically putting out not quite as much light as night light, but there was enough power at one point for the radio to come on. During that time I head a kind of whistling sound coming from the refrigerator so I unplugged it until the power came back on. That was a few nights ago. Whaddya think ? haunted house ? LOL

Cincinnati's highest ranking black police officer — a highly regarded assistant chief — was suspended with pay Friday after allegations that he faked a police report about a wreck that damaged his city car.

NAACP is already in town and crying foul. A spokesman at a news conference this afternoon complained that black men are being gunned down in the streets by white cops and this allegation is just a smokescreen! (nobody is saying the guy didnt lie in his report).

That is wierd. Usually either the power is completely off or on. Your house must be a few years old!

my biggest problem with this line is black men are being gunned down by white cops and they are covering it up by suspending with pay, black officers....

Sounds like the power company was leaking low voltage into the lines. That will overheat and burt nout a motor quickly. That is what is so damaging about brownouts
