"That section of the Blue Ridge has the most spectacular autumn foliage in the country" I agree, but you'd never convince a New Englander of it. Of course I have only been to New England once and that was in the summer.

Autumn leaves are gorgeous -- the Cascades have beautiful colors then, too, but they sometimes last only a short week. Sometimes 6 weeks. But there are so many evergreen trees, that the color is mostly found in the foothills or on the ground cover plants. I can see that the Blue Ridge Mtns would be completely brilliant.

I like Boone a little better I don't think I have seen any place change as much in 25 years as Boone has.

Here's another from Buena Vista. Although Colorado is normally not nearly as green as the south, ever, it is not normally THIS bad. The yellow grass would normally be green. The heat and dryness has really taken a toll this year.

Then there are those older hippie guys that turned out to be quite conservative, but just got really attached to their long hair.

     Nostalgic?

Well, it is good to see that you avoided meeting up with the Naked Singularity, while you were in this state.

Of course, I am guessing that you avoided him, as you still have your eyesight... Or did you pack a welding mask, for just such an inauspicious occasion??

To: ValerieUSA
Yes, but I guess they reminded him of other times and places. He said that it was too bad you didn't go to the beach...that he would have come down to meet you.

We met at a steakhouse, so he had to wear clothes. We both survived.
To: ValerieUSA
    That's a nice one.
To: Mo1
That was in Colorado. We are getting plenty here.

Fall in? No, more like accidentally on purpose jumped in.
To: sweetliberty

You were in Savannah for crying out loud. How could you have missed seeing the ocean? It is right there!

Two Texans in an NC steakhouse??? There has to be some sort of sacrilege in there somewhere...
