AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 536) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | July 10, 2002 | All of Us

Posted on 07/10/2002 4:11:28 AM PDT by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail! [President Bush]

Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

WorldCom announced they will decide within the next three weeks whether they have to file for bankruptcy protection. Analysts seem to think it is a foregone conclusion. It would be the largest such filing in US history, doubling the size of the Enron folding.

An Al Qa'eda audio tape has a spokesperson assuring the world The Evil One and Mullah Omar are alive and well.

A group of parents in Oakland, CA, are suing the school district for violation of the Establishment Clause. No, this time it is not Christianity that is at question. The action focuses on what has popped up in the news of late about certain practices in public schools in Kantafordia. According to The Washington Times, the parents filed suit because the schools, after September 11, "encouraged students to wear Muslim robes, adopt Islamic names, and stage make-believe pilgrimages to Mecca to learn about the faith."

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

At least it's not honey cheesecake. (You heard about the animal rights people boycotting honey, right? Because "the worker bees are exploited"??? I'm not making this up.)(Chair has the link).

Hadn't heard about the honey boycott, but why am I not surprised? I'm going to get with the movement and boycott all dairy products. It's obvious the cows are being exploited.

3. Never place your finger inside the trigger guard until you are ready to fire the weapon.

That one is pretty commonly violated, and is the cause of many negligent discharges.

While I'm ranting ......

.... Please hear me out before getting out the flame-throwers ..... I'm not sure that pilots having guns is the greatest idea in the world.

I know they're trained and I certainly wouldn't have a problem with trust ..... my gosh, you're already putting your life in their hands when you get on the plane .....

But if there is a chaotic situation on board a flight (which there would be if there was a question of the pilot needing a gun), I think I'd rather the pilot was giving all his attention to the controls.

Far better, IMO, to have armed marshalls or every flight ..... or let those with CC permits carry their weapons on board. Then no one would get far enough that the pilot would need to use a gun.

Happy Anniversary! I need to get to Wisconson and try that resturant. Every time you mention it, I'm suddenly starving.

This is also the result of eating too many tacos.

No flames, but I know many pilots, and many of them say "The pilot will be flying, the co-pilot needs something better than the fire axe to stop the threat."

This comes mainly after the incident on the aircraft from central/south (??) America, when the co-pilot whacked the nutcase coming through the cockpit door with the fire-axe.

I must respectfully disagree. There are ALWAYS a minimum of 2 pilots on board (4 on overseas flights) therefore one can always be in control of the plane while the other attends to business.

Also nix on the CC permits. They're much too easy to get. I got mine in Georgia and all I had to do was be fingerprinnted and pay $35. In Tennessee all you have to do is take a 6 hour course and pass a test. Still to easy to get.

There's another brewery right across the street from this one that is supposed to have even better food but I've heard it's very pricey. We'll get there eventually, I'm sure.

After dinner we'll take in the City Band concert at St. James Park and then go for a stroll along the river on the new pedestrian/bike trail.

I am muchly glad that it cooled off today.:)

I'm surprised the EPO hasn't banned smoking in all Mexican restaurants due to the inherent danger of just such explosions.

I ate at Mesa Grill last year while I was in NYC, oh my, the food was good.

I won't ever go to NY again (unless required to by law) but I would like to eat at one of his places. Emeril is another I intend to try.
