Teen age daughters are harder to take care of than teen age boys. Once they get into their "boys are cute" phase there's just no stopping them.

Priceless.

...Thanking God daily for two teenage boys. I watched my dad deal with three teenage daughters. He grew old fast.

Only 9-1/2 more years till my little girl makes the switch to teen-ageism. Fortunately I intend to be senile by then, as I got started on fatherhood rather late in life.

I watched my dad deal with three teenage daughters. My parents lucked out with three boys (although we were far from angels). My high-school sweetheart came from a family with *six* girls (her dad kept trying for a son to no avail.) They were all hot as well! That poor father. I always wondered how he paid for weddings. He was older than his years.

I was howling with laughter and I don't even have a teen-age girl. This will be shared with others that are experiencing this tramatic event. Thanks!

My dad wins (so far) with
7 girls! (No boys) I have no idea how either of my parents survived.
I have a 17 year-old daughter and a 16 year-old son. I wouldn't trade her for anything on Earth, but boy is she high-maintenance! I would have to throw my lot in with the 'boys are much easier' crowd.

I am an expert on teenage daughters. I have 3. Well, thankfully, my oldest is now 20.

I'm tired all the time. This article is right on the money.
"Shutdown: Several hours after activation, you may desire to shut down your teen-age daughter. There is no way to do this."
We learned to physically disconect the phone from the input source leading into the house at 9:00 pm. And NEVER EVER agree to a cell phone unless she pays for it. Our oldest NEEDED a cell phone. She had to wait until she was 18 and she paid for it. After the first bill, the cell phone ended.
P.S. Same with pagers

I would have to throw my lot in with the 'boys are much easier' crowd.Agreed. With a teenage boy, you only have to worry about one penis. With a daughter, you have to worry about all of them.

Someone obviously has been following my 14 year old daughter around. She is the poster child for this article! (I know I will survive because her 23 year old sister morphed into the same strange creature and regained control of her senses after a few years). My husband never had a problem with our son, but started turning grey when the older girl reached her teens, and is to the stage where he just walks around shaking his head and muttering now. Funny - he's pretty articulate with the rest of the population!

Thats great WIMom...ladders are cheap...love it...
Having had only boy children, I have no idea what it is like to raise teen-aged girls...
The teen-aged boys years were more than enough for me, thank you very much....
My husband never wanted any girls, he wanted just boys...I guess God heard his plea, as we had our two wonderful boys...
He always just said, he thought girls were more expensive, more trouble, more worries, and more exasperation than boys were...Dont know where he got his information from, as he was an only child is his family, with a half brother out there....
One of my husbands friends raised two girls...that man is now bald...he just looks at my husband and says, "You lucked out with just boys"
One of my female cousins married the first time, had a girl...her hubby left, and later on she remarried, taking her daughter into that marriage...she went on to have two more girls with her 2nd husband...
Now the 2nd husband is at home with three growing girls...I guess the teen-aged years about drove him crazy...he always complained, there is no rest in this house...four women and they all get their 'time of the month' in their own separate weeks...he thought the least they could do was coordinate their 'time of the month' to happen in just one week in one full swoop, and get it over with all at once...
But I am sure, all dads and moms love their teen-aged daughters, jsut need to outlast them...

"My husband ... just walks around shaking his head and muttering now." Mine too. Funny, he has 5 sisters and one brother who is 12 years younger than him. He doesn't remember his house being like ours, but he probably never paid attention then. Guys have a great way of tuning out.
I got so mad at my youngest when she was 14. I went through all her clothes and got rid of all the slutty things. It's amazing what they can sneak in and out of the house. She hated me for a long time. It's so hard setting standards when the media and retailers insist on selling this garbage. I hope they have girls someday.

Agreed. With a teenage boy, you only have to worry about one penis. With a daughter, you have to worry about all of them. That should be the quote of the day.
