A father and his two sons came first, second and third in the annual Cherry Pit Spitting Championship in Michigan.
Rick Krause, the 12-time championship winner, was defeated by his eldest son, Brian.
And his youngest son, Matt, took third place in the contest in Eau Claire.
Brian, who's 24, spat a cherry pit 18.6 metres while 48-year-old Rick managed 17.1 metres and 19-year-old Matt covered a distance of 13.8 metres.
Brian, who's in the Guinness Book of World Records for his 1998 spit of 22 metres, said: "This is the first time we ever did that."
His son, Braden Krause, won the under-five division with a spit of 4.3 metres.
And Rick's wife, Marlene, spit 9.3 metres. They were married at the contest six years ago.
Herb Teichman, owner of the event's site, the Tree-Mendus Fruit Farm, said: "Cherry pit spitting is like good sneeze. They're both therapeutic."
