The Guild 7-7-2002 Give Pink a Chance
7-7-2002

Posted on 07/07/2002 9:50:03 AM PDT by BigWaveBetty

PINK

Pink is strong, pink is soothing
Pink is a favorite of a designer's choosing.

Pink is just for girls
A color just for ribbons for their curls.

That's old school thinking
Seems everything today needs a good pinking!

So think pink and give pink a chance!

..........

......

............

....

Now after all that thinkin' Pink it's time to retire to your

Pink Suite

In your Pink Castle... pink dreams!

I don't have much to say or post about the color pink. When I was a teeny-bopper with acne I read someplace (probably Seventeen magazine) not to wear pink as it would accentuate my pimply face. So I got in the habit of avoiding it even way past the pimply phase. And when I got my "colors" done, it was not on my color wheel - not the soft shade of pink, anyway.

But I have nothing against pink, honest, and do wear it occasionally now.

I nominate the Color Purple for the next color to be honored. Have lots of purple stories and poems etc....

Morning MissDaisy - I guess we could have a Worst Blemish Day Story thread. What trauma in addition to everything else that goes on at that age! Yikes.

I can understand your dilemma as a teenager. Some shades just aren't right for me either but before I tried a few you couldn't get me near pink.

I like purple also, so regal. And it just so happens purple likes me too! :-) I think it would make a fun thread.

Which brings me to a favor a would like to ask. Mr. Betty is bringing home some more work to do from his office so I'll be busy with that for a few days.

Could you, daisyscarlett or some other kind soul start the thread when needed? I'm not sure of HLL' schedule this week but I do know she'll be busy busy a couple or three days at least.

Let me know if you can help. Thanks!

Morning JL.....I see you have recovered from all the bows you took the other day...LOL...it was sure fun and you were very gracious...

When I was a teeny bopper with "zitz", the only recourse we had was Clearasil. Nowadays, at the first sign of a pimple, teenagers get hauled off to a dermatologist and they treat them with drugs and creams....at least that's the way I see it.....So NOT FAIR that they do not have to go through the trauma I did....

;-) We really should have a zitz day - course maybe you and I are the only ones with remarkable tales?

That would really suck.

From the living room pic, all the Guild ladies look pretty flawless to me.

Of course I will be happy to help out with the threads any way I can while you and HLL and Mountaineer are otherwise engaged. (Freepmail me details).

I don't know if you've seen this. My father-in-law sent it to me.
Due to the popularity of the Survivor shows, Texas is planning to do it's own, entitled "Survivor, Texas Style."

The contestants will start in Dallas, travel to Waco, Austin, San Antonio, over to Houston, and down to Brownsville. They will then proceed up to Del Rio, on to El Paso, then to Midland, Odessa, Lubbock, and Amarillo.

From there, they'll proceed to Abilene, Ft. Worth, and finally back to Dallas.

Each will be driving a pink Volvo with a bumper sticker that reads, "I'm gay, I'm a vegetarian, I voted for Al Gore, George Strait Sucks and I'm here to confiscate your guns!"

The first one to make it back to Dallas alive wins.

What clothing sizes do you all need for Texana? FReepmail me if you don't want to post it publicly. I have a lot of nice stuff, even some designer, that I can't fit into anymore. It would help to know what size she needs. Same goes for shoes, and makeup colors. No sense sending size 4 dresses if she's an 8, or sending size 8 shoes if she's a 6....

I *still* have 'zitz.' I have suffered the evil zitz for ten years. Not just a few zitz, either--many zitz. Right now, I only have two zitz, thanks to the fact that I am in my second month of Accutane--the WONDER DRUG for ending zitz. I am glad those teeny boppers don't have to go through it--I wish Accutane had been more common when I was in high school. Now, in my twenties, it's a pain in the a$$ to be on it, with all the birth control and monthy blood testing requirements to fit in around my work schedule. But I am so excited to finally be getting rid of my zitz.

In case you can't tell, I would be a supporter of a zitz day. :)

This is what Texana said about her clothes and sizes.

I wear a six 6 or 6 1/2 shoe and since I have only the pair I bought with the WalMart card the city gave me, I could use another pair of sneakers. Hard to say what size jeans I wear - normally about a 5 to 7, but I havwn't been eating much and have dropped some lbs. I am happiest with cotton tee shirts and boxer shorts that will pass as shorts. T-shirts I wear a medium, shorts need to be small.

LOL! Here in NC it would be Chapel Hill, as in the People's Republic of Chapel Hill.

You are that baby boy's HERO!

Oh, you are too sweet! I mainly posted it because I couldn't believe someone would disregard thier childs safety like that. It was pretty upsetting for me to see how someone didn't care for this little guy at all. There are plenty of families out there who would give thier right arm to be blessed with a baby and here is someone who is and could care less. I am glad that I was able to help a little bit. If I hadn't got caught in Western Open traffic coming home I don't think our paths would have crossed like that.
