The Guild 7-7-2002 Give Pink a Chance
7-7-2002

Posted on 07/07/2002 9:50:03 AM PDT by BigWaveBetty

PINK

Pink is strong, pink is soothing
Pink is a favorite of a designer's choosing.

Pink is just for girls
A color just for ribbons for their curls.

That's old school thinking
Seems everything today needs a good pinking!

So think pink and give pink a chance!

..........

......

............

....

Now after all that thinkin' Pink it's time to retire to your

Pink Suite

In your Pink Castle... pink dreams!

This is so funny!!! You know when the Dem's start bringing out the celebs and name dropping that they are getting desperate!

MIAMI - The "Janet Reno Dance Party" isn't just a comedy skit anymore.

Reno, the former attorney general who wants to become Florida's next governor, will be holding a dance party fund-raiser July 19 at Level, a trendy club on Miami's South Beach.

NBC's "Saturday Night Live" had an ongoing skit featuring Will Ferrell dressed in drag as Reno and leading a dance party.

Reno herself made a cameo appearance on 'SNL' before leaving Washington, breaking through a false wall and performing the twist with Ferrell, dressed as her lookalike.

"Janet is not your typical politician, nor is her campaign for governor a typical campaign," said campaign spokeswoman Nicole Harburger. "We try to do things in a different way."

Level is a popular spot for celebrities, with rap impresario Sean "P. Diddy" Combs, supermodel Heidi Klum and pop queen Britney Spears among those who have partied there in recent weeks.

Actors Damon Wayans and Marlon Wayans and singer Ziggy Marley have already confirmed they will appear at the party, and actor Denzel Washington is likely to attend, said club owner Gerry Kelly.

Other celebs invited to appear include Jodie Foster, Kim Basinger, Glenn Close, Al Pacino and Matt Damon, Kelly said.

Reno has received campaign help from other celebrities, including former talk show host Rosie O'Donnell, singer Elton John and actor Martin Sheen, who plays President Josiah Bartlet on NBC's "The West Wing."

Tickets are $25 each, with all proceeds going to Reno's campaign fund.

OOPs, never mind, I just read the post from Texana. The Wal-Mart cards sound like a good idea.

Interesting that Hiedi Klum and Elton John would be supporting Reno. They aren't American citizens and can't vote.

I thought the same thing. Also, are all of these actors and performers Florida citizens? I am sure that some are (since south Florida is pretty pricey and trendy), but all of them?I thought Ziggy lived in Jamacia.

Classic - twenty five bones.

Teacup, we're in a semi-holding pattern, but I'll email you Texana's address where her PO is holding her mail. She is not making big decisions right now - I think we can all understand this. Thanks for your concern. JL

Howdy, howdy. Just walked in the door form a long weekend away.

Could you please provide the URL for the Male Bashing thread? I certainly don't want to miss that one.

Oh my, this poor gal tripped on her gown and fell. Doncha just hate when that happens. And I wonder if Ian and Chels will show for the Versace Winter Show....

;-) Great to see you, and NO, I have no clue on this one. Ask HLL if this dog still lives.

I missed it too (the male bashing thread). Apparently, the gist I've gotten is that certain males think The Guild is a perpetual male-bashing site. Those who take this position have obviously never been exposed to male-bashing.

HLL's counter-thread, meant to encourage the avid participation of affirmative action by both sexes, was irradicated w/o explanation. Go figure. I've ping'd HLL to this post in the odd chance that somehow I've misrepresented said events.

Just in case you have always wondered what "Haute Couture Fashion" is, well here is the latest...and I am not making this up....

Do you suppose that bandage on the model's wrist is part of the outfit or does she have a sprained wrist?

Good Grief Daisy - what is up with that child's hand?
I've tenderized a cheap cut of beef that didn't look that hammered.

You're a gen-oo-ine heroine! I hate to think what could have happened to that baby if you hadn't been there. Here's a pink reward!

Pink champagne cocktail

While searching for pink champagne I came across a website called "Princess Shellfish's World of Pink"....sounded cute so I went in. Oops. I hope I don't start getting porn mail. It was like the time I went to the tanning place and read in the paper the next week that it had been raided for prostitution. I guess I should have taken a cue from the name: eXciting Tan. {{Blush}}

LOL!!! How is that even possible? Did they have back room or something? I will say that tanning salons are very bizarre places. I don't go tanning anymore, but when I was younger I used to. One of the places had signs on all of the garbage cans, "THIS IS NOT A RESTROOM!! There are restrooms at the back of the salon for customer use!!" I do not even want to know what happened in there for them to have to put those signs up!

I just checked, you are correct, my thread asking for peace and to stop the woman bashing is gone again. It was into the 400s and I didn't see anything objectionable, I wonder why they would pull the whole thread.

The usual suspects did come by and try to say that the Guild is only male bashing and foolishness. I guess it never occured to them to read. If this was male bashing we wouldn't have lodwick or codebreaker. We wouldn't sit here and praise the husbands. The only male bashing I see here is against slimeballs like Impeached and Daschle.

Maybe it was because I posted that they are all whiney about their ex wives and want to go get mail order brides, but while they are whining about thier women remember.... YOU PICKED THEM.

Re the model's hand; I am afraid that might be my fault. I tried to make the photo smaller and instead it came out larger and I think it is a "pixel" thingie...No one would hire a model with hands like that for a high fashion show, would they?

Oh no - don't tell me I spent all my FR goodwill on a jerked off, pulled off, stricken off thread?

I will go and look for this thread. It could be lost in the myriad of things that we now have going with FR, but I truly hope that it's not been...deleted for no good reason. JL
