FOFLOL. Well, that's true, 6am is a bit early. Still, it was refreshing to read about Barbara Bush chastising her son, about his apology to the press when a golf ball landed a little too near them and how he opted for a treadmill run rather than inconvenience the city of Kennebunkport, it's residents and tourists by closing off streets just so he could have an outdoor run. (dozens of moments from the bad old days commencing when Clinton closed down LAX for a haircut flashed before my eyes) I read another article that said yesterday at church the Bush family received communion first then slipped out so their presence on the front pew would not distract parishoniers from the sacrament.

Good job for BadJoe - thanks a bunch.
Expect to hear a LOT of "I respectfully decline to answer..." from what I'm hearing on the radio. Keep us posted as I head back out with TheList. ;-)

President Bush just scheduled a press conference for 5pm EDT/4pm CDT today. In time for the evening news broadcast and before tomorrow's Wall Street address. I wonder what it is about.

Update, Ostensibly it is about Congress. Maybe Daschle, Harkin and McCain et al, want to rethink they're most recent statements LOL
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Bush ( news - web sites) will hold an afternoon news conference Monday, the White House said.
A White House aide said Bush wanted to discuss his legislative agenda as Congress returns from its July 4 break.
The president, who has a tradition of announcing news conferences at the last moment, is likely to face questions about the host of U.S. corporate accounting scandals

Thanks for the heads up. I posted the info and links I had on that thread. It is being held in the West Wing briefing room instad of the more formal East Room. So it probably isn't gonna be too dramatic. :)
