Kabobs sound good to me:
Pork Kabobs (Souvlaki)
1-1/2 pounds boneless pork, cut into 1-1/2-inch cubes,br> 1/2 cup olive oil
1/4 cup dry white wine
1/2 lemon, juiced
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon chopped fresh oregano
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
Place meat cubes in a large bowl. In a small bowl, mix remaining ingredients together well. Pour over meat. Toss to coat. Cover bowl and refrigerate overnight.
Prepare barbecue grill. Drain meat and reserve marinade. Slide meat cubes onto skewers. Place on grill and cook for about 20 minutes total, basting with reserved marinade.

Oh, yum! One of the bf's and my favorite things to grill is shrimp--wrapped in bacon. Next time we do that I'm going to try brushing it with honey and soy sauce. Gosh--I'm starving!

Well all this talking about cookouts had me thinking about my black bean salad. I love this and I make it quite a bit during the summertime.
Dressing:
1-2 Tbs olive oil
1 Tbs Red wine Vinegar
Juice from 2-3 limes
Salt and Fresh Ground Pepper
Salad:
2 15 oz cans of black beans (make sure you drain them)
1/3 c chopped cilantro
1 small red onion, chop this course
1 small pkg of frozen corn (or about 3 cooked fresh ears)
2 Avacados, peel, pit and chop these
Wisk all of the ingredients for the dressing. Comine all of the salad ingredients in another bowl, mix those together and then toss in the dressing. If you need to wait to serve this, put the pits from the avacado in with the salad to keep from turning brown.
I play with this recipe endlessly. DH likes it with some diced jalapenos in there, I like it with a bit of cumin and a lot of lime sprinkled in.

That black bean salad looks fabulous and I love souvlaki. I will have to try both of these.
Would anyone like to volunteer to save all of our recipes so we can put it all on one thread for Labor BBQ. We were so successful with our Thankgiving and Christmas recipes, I still get requests for the bookmarked threads.

That's a new one for me, too. One thing I have noticed is that everyone who is still alive and was in Hollywood from the mid 40's to August 4th 1962 (the day Marilyn died) claims to have had sex with her. If she was having sex with all of these people then when did she have time to make movies? It's like that basketball player who said he had sex with-what was it?- 2000 or 5000 women? I remember someone figured out that he would have had sex twice everyday since he was 12 or 13. I am not saying Marilyn was ready for the nunnery, but she would have had to be a pretty busy woman to have been with everyone who claims to have been with her.
