The bride's mother is younger than the groom, hmmmm.
Teacup, good luck with those young ones. Who gets to sit in the front today? LOL.
Iowa, Prayers for your son to get well soon.

Loved the Freddy Thompson wedding link...some goodies from there:
1. The dress was designed by Valentino.
2. The mother of the bride is 55-four years junior to the groom.
3. Fred used to date Margaret Carlson (well at least she is in his age group, meow).
4. Chris Dodd gave Fred tips on how to have a hush-hush wedding - he had one, too, three years ago-also to a much younger gal....

Thinking about a yard-walker for the 4th...have to catch one first though...

Good morning, tea. Have a safe trip to "town" today. So happy Billy is back with his mommy today....

I use Great Lash too. Since I stay at home with the kids, I have to watch every dollar. That being said, when I buy cosmetics, I look for something that will be a good value, as well as look good on me.
My mom started me off on Clinique, Elizabeth Arden, and Este Lauder, and I basically stayed with those brands until ds came along. I tried the grocery store brands in an attempt to save money, but I found that 80% of the stuff I purchased was thrown out b/c I couldn't try it on and it looked terrible on me after I got it home.
I went back to Clinique b/c they have a nice assortment of "the basics" for a good price. Then I saw the BE infomercials, and with all of the recommendations here, I knew I had to try it.
The neat thing that I've noticed about the BE is that this stuff is going to last FOREVER! It takes very little of the product to give you the color that you want, and there's nothing in it that can go bad and spoil after a year or two.

Yes, I need to find out when the BE infomercial will air again.
My cable system does not carry QVC, and even though Internet web casts have improved in quality, it's not what I prefer.
(I only was able to watch a few minutes on the Internet on Saturday night, and most of the products were "sold out" by that time.)
If anyone knows when the infomercial will air again, please pass along the details.

Love your opening pics, but if it were here in WA state - you would need to show the rain. Happens every year....
Oh well. It's still one of my favorite holidays!

I swear I see those infomercials at least once a day...mostly in the early morning and late evening.

Yum - nice looking bird. We'll be over to a friend's back yard for a God Bless America party and cook-out. The Garlic Hash Browns are our assignment this year, so that will easily accomplished.
We'll say the Pledge of Allegiance, have patriotic music, and a time for those who wish to say what our country means to them, or tell war stories, or whatever is in their heart to say.
A very pleasant late afternoon and evening should be had by all.

When do you see those informercials and what channels? I have never seen it but everyone else I know has!
And you are so right about BE lasting forever. The only product I have ever refilled is the foundation. It lasts me about 6 months or so.

Great thread. Thanks for starting it. Betty and I were discussing having BBQ for today's topic. She has to call to wake me up since the power company thinks we all want to sleep in the heat.

I asked mountaineer to do it because she is so knowledgable about all kinds of food.
And I had this weird idea in my head that I should find a variety of recipes, some fancy, some not. Then I remembered all the great food mountaineer talks about making and thought she would find all the best stuff.
I had it all wrong. I was thinking too much again! Her thread is much more fun and lively. Mine would have been a cookbook. :-(
Thank you mountaineer, I'll try to be more creative next time. Can I come to you for help when HLL is electricly challanged? I promise to study hard and do better from now on!

There's hope for me!

I'm back from my Kroger run. Pork tenderloin on sale, so I'm thinking of doing a "rub" and grilling it, using this recipe from
TV food network:
1 tablespoon oregano
1 tablespoon coriander seed
1 tablespoon cumin seed
1 tablespoon fennel seed
1 tablespoon mustard seed
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon salt
2 tablespoons Spanish paprika
1/2 tablespoon black pepper
2 bay leaves
1 medium pork tenderloin (whole)
Combine all ingredients except the tenderloin and grind in a spice grinder. Cover the tenderloin with the rub and allow to marinate for 30 minutes. Grill for 8 to 12 minutes for medium rare.

I said a prayer for your trip to be a safe one, that you get a parking space right up front (under a tree for shade), that the traffic will be light, that the other drives will be courteous and that whomever validates your parking stub does it with a smile! :-)
That should make the kids alittle easier to handle. I hope! :-)
If you have any spare Botox please send it my way. And hurry! hehehe

Have you posted that story about Tiny Tom Cruise yet on another thread?
