I'll probably start small like at CLTV (for everyone not in the Chicago area that is our local 24 hr new channel, like Fox News or CNN) or Fox Chicago, but the thought of doing Walter Jacobsons hair kind of makes my skin crawl. Then it's on to the big time- Fox News. Watch out Rita Cosby, you're my first makeover! There is another woman whose name I can never remember who has very obviously bleached blonde hair. She never has roots showing, but the color is totally wrong for her skin tone. I'm gonna find her next and make her over, too.

Is it Laurie Dhue? They put her makeup on with a trowel. =) She'd be much prettier without all that junk on her face.

No, but you are right about her, though. I'll put her on the Fox New Makeover List. Less is more, Laurie.

Okay, as long as we're commenting on news babes, why does Ashleigh Banfield always wear a sweater or scarf around her neck? She's been in Salt Lake City, wearing a sleeveless top, but with a sweater tied around her neck, a la Hillary. Does she have some sort of strangulation fetish?

Utah Girl, has the weather been that variable lately that one would could go from sleeveless to sweater-clad in the blink of an eye?

Martha news. She's really a sweetie. What about the time the domestic goddess went to lunch at Barbra Streisand's house in East Hampton? "Barbra prepared her favorite dessert: angel food cake with Cool Whip. Martha bravely not only ate the concoction, she mustered a compliment. 'I've never had Cool Whip before,' she told Babs. 'It's not bad.' " (Jeannette Walls, quoted in Page Six.)

Martha may not be taking the correct approach, PR experts say:

Michael Sitrick, chairman of Sitrick & Co., a Los Angeles crisis-PR firm says Ms. Stewart's sometimes close-mouthed approach has exacerbated her plight. "In a court of law you are innocent until proven guilty," Mr. Sitrick says. "In the court of public opinion, people assume 'no comment' means 'guilty as charged.' " ....

Some say Ms. Stewart's attempts to conduct her business as usual, including TV appearances, while she has dodged the media pack, have backfired. Wall Street Journal

She's trying to hide her hickeys. Heraldo is back in the states isn't he?

Rita Cosby makes me mental. The hair, (which btw last weekend looked like a beatles do)it looks stiff, like wig. But the most aggrivating thing about Rita is her command of the english language.

I've heard things like (concerning Tim McViegh's jail house letter)this come out of her mouth: (paraphrasing) "Tim NcViegh is very intelligent, all throughout this long letter he uses really big words. Listening a few day ago (can't remember the exact words they were grating my nevers, must have blocked it out) it was apparent that this "professional" just isn't camera, speaking to the public material.

I love Steve Doocey! And somebody please fix the lighting on Laren Green and Shepard Smith, they both look like they have devil eyes!

a few years ago, I attempted the deviled eggs - and cut the girth!

LOL! Bless your heart! (in the good way)

Here's what do to next time, (i learned this from Mr. B) I meant to do that! I wanted my deviled eggs to be interactive, the guests will have to chase them down. It'll be grrrreat!

When the quests look confused at your Weeble deviled eggs, you say Weeble's wooble but they don't fall down, these hybrid Weeble deviled eggs will fall down, but the fun is you have to catch them before they roll away! Since they'll roll in a circle they won't go to far but don't spoil your guests fun, just let them think they're gonna have to work extra hard to get one of those Weeble eggs! :-)

You'll be the life of the party, like you're not always anyway!

I've been up since 5am and have sucked down three tall glasses of very strong iced tea.

It's a miracle! The pool puds showed up Monday and loosen the rock from the deck AND THEN they came back Tuesday and cleaned it all up!!

Thanks for your support... you can uncross your fingers now. ;-)

Good morning! Did I miss a signal somewhere that today is bash Bush day?

It seems every other thread I click on this morning is infected. I'm finding that I don't need much coffee this mornin' what with all the vitriol.

Anyway, I'm glad to see the tribute to JL today. Really, we are blessed with your presence.

Way to go pondpals - just keep on showing up - every day!

Thanks, but keep it quiet, please. When Billie started this, I suggested that she ask first, but I guess that hint went nowhere.

On the other hand, if she did ask, there's probably not too many of us that would jump up, "Me, me, me, me." ;-)

There's a lot of us who owe Billie, Daisy, BWB, and other friends, a whole bunch for teaching us how to do whatever we can do with the HTML and posting and linking skills. FR would not be what it is without good, decent folks helping others when they need it.

A humongous, humorous, happy hump day is wished for all. JL

Laurie Dhue and her over-inflated lips makes me nuts. She also has a severe case of Helmet Hair. That stuff doesn't move.

Angel Food Cake with Dream Whip? I guess Bab's doesn't have the time to cut up some strawberries and at least make it look like she tried.

I have noticed a few days slip by where I didn't run into one Bush bash thread. It was heaven each time. Otoh I'd have say there are many Bush bashing threads FR pretty much everyday.

Even if you manage to stay only on threads where you think it's safe, you say or agree with others of like mind and they crawl over to where you are and give you a hard time there.

I choose to get flamed if I go to where there is Bush bashing and defend him Then when they come to a praising/appreciating thread where their opinions don't mesh well with ours, these cry babies become indignant because we choose to dismiss their childish political ideas. Sorry for the rant. It's been building.

JL, you deserve it! I know I just like the feeling I get from helping people, don't want a bunch of fanfare. Try to remember that you've touched many hearts and they just want to tell you thanks. :-)

I'll go check out Billie's thread soon as I finish Countdown to Forth of July Festivities Thread II. Be right back...

I'm still trying to grasp the concept of Babs doing her own cooking. That the result of her efforts is angel food cake with Cool Whip is only slightly less comprehensible. She should have sent her hubby out to Ralph's to pick up some canned cherry pie filling, at least! LOL

Angel Food Cake with Dream Whip

Don't laugh! My mother used to have this fabulous recipe for unexpected company and I'd forgotten about it.

She would mix Cool Whip and Cafe Vienna (or any one of those powdered coffee mixes...or even hot chocolate mix). Add pecans or walnuts. Then, using thread, cut the cake into 3 or 4 layers. Spread the whipped spread between all layers and all around the cake. Sprinkle the top with chopped nuts or other sprinkles.

It was so easy but it looked like she'd worked for hours on it. Yummy.

Your mom was making a torte. I learned to do it with a Sara Lee Pound cake, but I would whip my own cream so I wouldn't get the sugar of the Cream Whip. I add powdered hazelnut coffee and Covousier brandy. I also add a layer of rapberries. It's super easy but looks like it took all day.

Torte, so easy and elegant and definitely a crowd-pleaser. I'll take seconds, please. YUM!
