Hum. Whats OS and have I been hard on it ? LOL

Mr Ling installed the same kind of modem as before since the one that got zapped was still under warranty. He installed the modem and added memory. I tried to log on but the thing kept crashing or locking up. The illegal funtion error kept popping up as did the dark blue screen with a couple of paragraphs in white type. :) At the same time there was a loud churning sound so he disconnected the speakers and updated the sound driver. It crashed a few more time then seemed to gradually straighten out. When I got it home it the freezing and crashing again. I called Mr Ling and he suggested I disconnect the sound card until I could get it back to him. I disconnected the speakers and the micprohone but I didn't try to disconnect the sound card. :) It was the end of the day and I didn't have time to fool with it right then and my guests arrived the next day.

Pretty civilized. We went to a good mexican restaurant and didn't press our luck by staying too long. LOL Relatively few sighs, didn't see any eye rolling and cell phones were not permitted. They're packing and getting ready for an early start tomorrow. :) The other kids, a niece and nephew, who are are staying at my sisters are 14 and 17 but there is a world of difference in attifude and behavior. I'll take those two any day. :)
