Good grief, Swervie, here you go again: It P!SSED ME OFF IN 1954, and I still hate it. It makes the whole pledge awkward and ugly as it is spoken. Why don't we stick "Under God" into the Star Spangled Banner in a few spots. It wouldn't screw it up any worse than it did the pledge.

O thus be it ever when free-men shall stand Between their lov'd home and the war's desolation; Blest with vict'ry and peace, may the heav'n-rescued land Praise the Pow'r that hath made and preserv'd us a nation! Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just, And this be our motto: “In God is our trust!” And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Uh Swervie, old Francis Scott Key already did put God in there. Shall we exhume his body and read him your ridiculous rant? You have been P.O.'d since 1954? Take something. Geesh!

I meant, why not throw it in a few more places where it wouldn't scan and would destroy the flow of the piece.

I am still PO'd at the editing of the Book of Common Prayer over 100 years ago and the leaving of the Apocrapha out of the King James Bible. I hate any muchoin with tradition. Traditions are the most important thing there is
