The lingo they throw around with veterinary medicine is much like human medicine.
When we had the ranch, I bought a Merck Veterinary Manual and also a little paperback medical dictionary. The MVM is very, very good--and is broken down by animals and classes of animals, and covers general categories like Respiratory, Blood System, Digestion, Skeletal, Neurological....and they have tables with normal temp ranges, gestation, prescriptions, etc.
The little medical pocket dictionary was handy when trying to figure out 'hemo' or 'neuro' sorts of words I was reading in the Merck. I used the Merck a lot at the ranch. I don't use it as much here--guess its just as easy to drive the mile away to the vet clinic...my critters seem to like them all well enough.
What can ya say about the 9th Circuit!!! I've thought of a lot of things to say....starting with brain dead!
