Hi all.. I just escaped the kitchen, so I'm on the loose for about twenty minutes.. lol
The kids dropped in again today to pool it.. It's hot.. Still almost 90 outside.. I have the air on so it's not too bad in here..
Palo, of course I remember the cardigans worn backwards.. I have not idea why we wore them that way.. I didn't have enough to bother, whether the sweater was frontwards or backwards.. I had lots of those neckerchiefs for around my neck tho..
Oh and Kathy.. I did wear a size three shoe, in Junior High.. By the time I graduated from High School and got married almost a year later, I wore a three and a half.. lol
I've had four kids and still wear a five and a half to six..
Maybe that's why the Capt'n thinks I have funny feet.. lol

hi cookie
I bet you looked cute in your cardigan on backwards your tight skirt
your kerchief on neck
did you wiggle when you walked
Love, Palo

ac english names and american names for clothes are not the same
the english say jumper when we say cardigan
when we say jumper, we mean something like a pinafore, a sleevess scooped dress over a dress
we say sneakers and you say something like stalkers (zombie shoes? deathstalkers? I forgot the name)
creepers?
To: palo verde
The Brits call them trainers.
Now, its been over 20 yrs since I cracked a Latin book, so I'm rusty.Give me a sec ;-)
To: palo verde
Lol.. I didn't have anything to wiggle either.. I was a stick.. I was 4'11" and 83 pounds when I got married.. I was that same weight from the seventh grade..
I can't believe how much weight I've gained since then.. At least 20-30 pounds.. lol lol lol
To: grannie9

Actually, I have been thinking of writing this stuff down, for my son, in case he forgets any of these silly stories...tho how he could possibly forget is beyond me, when he hears these stories time and time again...
But I have considered writing them down for him...
Now my son, there is the real writer in the family...I think he actually does write well enough to make money off of it, but he just pooh-poohs the idea...says he enjoys writing for his own pleasure, but thats it...
I think its really hard to make a living writing tho...
But I am just glad that you all enjoy my little stories...
The next and probably last installment of the Oscar saga, will be forthcoming, in the next few days...its a corker...
To: habs4ever
and the motion part?
e-motion would mean what exactly then
To: grannie9
My goodness, Grannie...you are a tiny little sweetie girl...

they always give an image of controlling your emotions, like controllng a wild horse
lol galloping feelings
or letting your feelings run away with you

another tree report~
the expert came today. the one is beyond saving, it seems. the other post oak is looking stressed as well. we were advised to do an aggressive treatment on it. that entails digging up the ground around it (and all the landscaping) and refurbishing the soil, doing anti-fungus stuff, and fertilizer. he is hopeful with this one because we are catching it early.
this company saved "the treaty oak" in downtown austin when some nutcase poisoned it. that oak is hundreds of years old.
it will be somewhat costly, but not when you weigh how much loss there would be if we lost both trees.
To: christine11
hi chrissie
we are all praying you save both your wonderful trees
it is the season of the miracle
don't give up on either tree
Love, Palo
