another tree report~
the expert came today. the one is beyond saving, it seems. the other post oak is looking stressed as well. we were advised to do an aggressive treatment on it. that entails digging up the ground around it (and all the landscaping) and refurbishing the soil, doing anti-fungus stuff, and fertilizer. he is hopeful with this one because we are catching it early.
this company saved "the treaty oak" in downtown austin when some nutcase poisoned it. that oak is hundreds of years old.
it will be somewhat costly, but not when you weigh how much loss there would be if we lost both trees.
