Loddy would like Salmon...only 3,000 people and 150 miles away from the nearest big city...Missoula, Mt, or 160 miles to Idaho Falls, Idaho. People live there because they want to, not because it is an easy place to live.
When I first drove into Salmon, the thing that I still recall that impressed me the most, was how pleasant the people were, and are.
The winters get a littttle long, but it is the neatest place I have ever lived and I can't wait to get back for the 4th of July.
Rowdee and I will be drinking brew together during that week!

Not a chocolate beer, I trust...

Not if Rowdee expects me to finish her beer!! and no darn raspberry beer either!

At Wisdom, Montana, there's a nice little museum describing a big battle where the Nez Perce indians kicked the stuffings out of the bluecoats. An advance group of calvary caught the Nez Perce in an encampment and rather than wait for the main body to catch up, decided to attack. When it was all over, about 13 of the calvary looked like porcupines. Before they made a monument out of the place 20-years ago, relects could still be found at the site.

Well, you have all really been busy...I am amazed at all the posts already. I wonder if I'll have time to read them all to find out what has been going on all day while we were at the Abroath Abbey today. It started out with a wee bit of rain but then the sun came out and it was glorious all the rest of the day. We had some wind but it kept the sky clear with just a few pretty fluffy clouds. Here in the british isles we get an awful lot of cloudy days and rain so when the sun is out we all got out doors.

About Politics Rowdee, I now have to wipe my tea off my monitor! that is a really good joke...

Ok, now, where are all of you? CG and I don't have much time together to visit with all of you. She leaves for London tomorrow morning. It is going to be very quiet around here for a few days until we get used to the routine. Our visit was just too short.

JOKE TIME
After a long night of intimacy, a young guy rolled over
and was looking around when he noticed a framed picture
of another man.
The guy began to worry. "Is this your husband?"
"No, silly," she replied, snuggling up to him.
"Your boyfriend then?" he asked.
"No, not at all," she said, nibbling away at his ear.
"Well, who is he then?" asked the bewildered guy.
The girl replied, "That's me before the surgery."

Chocolate beer? Raspberry beer? Oh, yuck.....I have a hard enough time just dealing with the plain, ordinary stuff without trying to come up with something to quelch that taste!!

Oh loddy, you'd love Wisdom....the entire Big Hole Valley. That is the most beautiful spot on earth. The don't call Montana God's country for nothing. The sky over the Big Hole gets to be such a brilliant blue....and it comes right down to the earth.....and the mountains are so majestic, so regal with their cape of snow--the Bitterroots carry that cape near all year round. The grass is like a velvet carpet, with little creeks meandering through the entire area providing the sub-water which allows it to be such rich growth. Momma cows and babies....mommas are belly deep in grass and when the babies are little, you can't see them a lot of times.
To enter the Big Hole is like going back in time...there are some modern amenities, i.e., a restaurant that has a great breakfast, a bar, bunch of pickups....but ranching families and hired help are the treasures as well as the land.
To sit in that restaurant and catch bits and pieces of conversations and the back and forth across the way and with the waitresses....it is such a neat feeling.
Oh....and you NEVER run out of coffee over there. :)

Oops! Sorry---I forgot the "SPRAY ALERT". :)

Sounds like your weather today was rather like ours here in Salmon, Idaho. Rain and wind with a spot of sun once in a while. I kept trying to go to the Courthouse to pay my second half property taxes today....finally, about quarter of 4, I said what the devil....and took off.
As luck had it, when i pulled up at the Courthouse, it quit raining. When I walked out, it was misting like it wanted to start again....and it has--off and on.

Nice talkin with ya, Scotslass, though I pulled in here late--sometimes these distractions like family stopping in, dogs chasing cattle, etc., get in the way of doing what one wants to be doing.
You'd better plan on spending time here...if CG don't getcha, some of the rest of us just might, girl!
CG...when you get home and rested, you'll have to type out a series of articles about your adventures with Scotslass and, of course, with Ozzy...
