Kind of a relaxing day here - not too much excitment after the ThonFrenzy.
I had to give all the hostages back to their owners, but it was costing me a fortune for their cheese.

FOX is now showing news footage that was taken when the firefighting plane crashed yesterday. It is the strangest thing I have ever seen.
When the C-130 started to pull up, both wings just snapped off clean. The forest service only gets planes so old the Air Force doesn't want them any more, and they fly them way over standard gross weight, but still and all, the Hercules is legendary for it's toughness.

Oh sheeeeesh! There's a headline out there saying Chelsea's been dubbed the new JFK Jr. Gimme a break! He was stunningly handsome and dressed and carried himself with class. Chelsea is just a hideous bimbowannabe.

I saw a clip of that last night and thought it looked like something staged for a bad movie. In fact, if you'd seen that in a movie you wouldn't have believed it.

Seriously, they showed a slow motion of the tape and I don't think the fire started before the wings folded. The center panels of the wings are fuel tanks, so as soon as they started to bend the air was full of fuel and the inboard engines are close.

I've seen them. I lived near a Forest Service tanker base and smokejumper base in Idaho in the 80's. And, I've seen the tankers in action dropping the fire retardant. Quite a sight. The FS still (as far as I know) uses DC3's (as well as newer aircraft) for the smokejumper operations. Flying those tankers is dangerous work.
