Lock your door, Mo. *sigh* Okay, maybe your kindness to the village idiot will earn you an extra jewel in your crown in Heaven.

Are you warching the briefing? The media is already whining about whether he has legal representation. Are war criminals entitled to legal representation under our law? They have said he is being treated as an enemy and has been turned over to the defense departmenat. Apparently he is an American citizen.

Flash, I don't know you or Ringy very well, but I want you guys to know that you're in my thoughts and prayers. JL

Just checked the "liberal" thread. Words' meanings can change a hundred and eighty degees over time, depending on how they're used, and who is using them.
This is just a pristine example. Thanks for the link. ;-)

Attorney General John Ashcroft said that Abdullah Al Mujahir, also known as Jose Padilla.... The guy they arrested. Was his original name Jose and he changed it when he converted to Islam, or is he an Arab Muslim passing as a Mexican in America?
To: sweetliberty
Maybe one day they'll get it - about the 'toon.
It's all about bent: and never about his stupid props.

Ashcroft said Mujahir had served prison time in the United States in the early 1990s, then traveled to Afghanistan and Pakistan during 2001 and met with al-Qaida officials. Ashcroft said Mujahir ``trained with the enemy, including studying how to wire explosive devices and researching radiological dispersion devices.'' He could have converted while in prison, as so many do. We have GOT to put a stop to that in the prison! What a perfect recruiting ground for resentful violent future terrorists.
To: ValerieUSA
Well sheesh, Valerie - finish reading the danged article before asking so many questions!
This official said Mujahir is a former Chicago street gang member who converted to Islam after serving time in the United States, and met with an al-Qaida leader in 2001, before returning to the United States.

The administration is being smart with this guy. Apparently, they learned a lot about how to handle these circumstance with Lindh. Most of the press are part of the Hate America First gang. Their reaction was as predictable as the snide remarks of Peter Jennings will make this evening or how early in the broadcst will Rather speculate about what the President knew.

Right, fertile ground. They're already full of hate and they're convicted offenders, usually of violent crimes.

This doo-doo head talking to David Asman now is so lame.... he was asked about how we can stop "religious" organizations from recruiting terrorists in prison, and he answered, "It's not a problem with the religious organizations, but a problem with the use of the religious organizations."
It's a problem with Politically Correct government employees allowing Muslim "missionaries" into prisons and calling their hate groups "religious organizations." They are HATE AMERICA militants intent on subversion and terror and crime and they operate right under the noses of the tolerant prison administrators... maybe a peek into the finances of these wardens is in order. They may be getting personal charitable donations from the Islamic charities.
To: ValerieUSA, all
The pud was posing as a Mexican.
What a mess if we don't start some serious profiling - who give a bleep if someone's widdy feelings get hurt? Dammit.

He's from Chicago, so he may be Mexican-American. We'll have to include American ex-cons in the profiling.
I am sure there are plenty more American citizens who have converted to Islam in prison now operating in terrorist cells across the country. They've been planning a BIG attack (more widespread than Sept 11) for a LONG time - all through the 90s at least. Chances are when Jose's bomb went off in Washington, other bombs were probably going to go off in other cities across America on the same day (July 4?).

Wow, Val.....are you bucking for the job of Minister of Religons?

"We have GOT to put a stop to that in the prison!" The problem with that though Val, is that the prisons are rich grounds for conversion to Christianity as well, and a lot of people turn their lives around for the good in the prisons. Having been active in prison ministry in the past, I have seen some incredible changes in people's lives and would never suggest that we give up the opportunity to evangelize in prisons.
I know and you know that it is not the same thing as Islam, but according to the laws of the land I don't think it is possible to allow the teaching of one religion in prison and the exclusion of another.
To: ValerieUSA
Sheeesh. Try not to let the Hate America Firsters annoy you too much. Just consider the source, motives and intent.

"Martin Sheen, thank you for your passion, for your caring about the humankind of this planet," Janet Reno told her supporters after greeting the actor to the stage.
Sheen returned the praise in kind.
"Florida is fortunate enough to have a very rare opportunity to engage the most qualified and gifted public servant imaginable in Miss Reno."
