Poor Jennifer. Do you think she knew what she was getting into when she married him?

Today's tidbits:

Mickey Sherman the well-known lawyer of the well-known Michael Skakel of the even weller-known Martha Moxley case, how's he feel now that the jury found him guilty? "I'm dying. F- - - - - - dying. I've been weeping uncontrollably. I went to bed and stayed for three hours. Knowing we have the appeal and that I'll be there no matter what, I kept saying to myself, 'I can't do this . . .' " Eventually, he went for food. Lobster carbonara. But no drinks. "I need a clear head.
rest of story, along with J-Lo scoop.

Oh yes, and Liza news:

...[O]ne source - who paid full price for his pricey ticket - said he didn't exactly get his money's worth. "It was good to see Liza do her old standards, but she was hoarse and needed a teleprompter," the concertgoer told us. "And that rap number - it was just disconcerting."

But what creeped out audiences the most was the $15 program for the show, which was an homage to Minnelli's new hubby, Gest. "His name was on the front cover, twice. There is a photo of them with their wedding invite inside and people have bought congratulatory ads and homages to her. ..."
Page Six for full story.

Martha Stewart among those who benefited from a little insider trading info:

IT'S a bit unfair to single out Martha Stewart in the mini-scandal about insider trading in the stock of Dr. Sam Waksal's dodgy ImClone company. The way I hear it, all of Dr. Sam's society chums got the tip to sell before the shares tanked late last December.

"Waksal's like some star-struck kid," says an SEC source. "He loves mixing with celebrities and he looked after a whole bunch of them by letting them in on ImClone's IPO. But he couldn't afford to have them actually lose money on the stock - that would have lost him face and friendship."

This source says the various investigations going on now will likely turn up at least a half dozen big names who sold out just as fortuitously as did Martha.

So was it insider trading? "Maybe not," says my SEC source. "Waksal, or someone acting for him, called his special friends and said they should sell because a matter that was public knowledge would impact on the stock. The only trouble was, the public didn't yet know about what Waksal said was public knowledge."
Neal Travis

I bet Hillary's steaming that she wasn't in on the Waksal deal, after her great success with cattle futures.

Tony Rodham a deadbeat dad (much like his brother-in-law), ex-wife claims:

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's youngest brother may have embarrassed her again. Tony Rodham was in a Washington, D.C., court on Thursday battling his ex-wife, Nicole Boxer, over child support. Boxer, daughter of Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.), claimed that Rodham is way behind in payments for their son, Zachary, who turns 7 this week.

"He hasn't paid child support in over six months," said our source. Rodham, who's representing himself in the child-support case, was most recently in the business of importing hazelnuts from the former Soviet republic of Georgia.

Boxer, who works in film, divorced Rodham in 2000. Since then, the 47-year-old Rodham has been criticized for lobbying his brother-in-law, then-President Bill Clinton, to pardon embezzlers Edgar and Vonna Jo Gregory. Last Aug. 18, police were called to the Rodham family cottage in the Berkshires after Daniel Coyne allegedly broke in and kicked Rodham "in the head and body." According to police reports, Coyne saw Rodham having sex with his girlfriend, Kelly Quick. Rodham admitted he "might have" smoked marijuana with Coyne earlier, as Coyne claimed.

Boxer's lawyer Robert Liotta would say only, "This is a sealed case." Rodham did not return messages left at his office and on his cell phone.

Sen. Clinton's spokeswoman did not return calls by deadline.

Winona Ryder a repeat offender?

June 10, 2002 -- Winona Ryder's suspected shoplifting spree may not have been the first time the actress swiped merchandise. The Los Angeles district attorney's office apparently has evidence the sticky-fingered star was involved in another incident - but wasn't charged, Newsweek magazine reports. NY Post.

Susan Sarandon hoised on her own hypocritical petard (what is a petard, anyway):

Don’t expect Susan Sarandon to get invited back on “The View.” The politically active actress was a guest on the show last week and blasted the hosts of the show for being more interested in gossip than politics. “Maybe what’s happening in Burma with civil rights, or something more substantial than poor Winona Ryder and what’s allegedly happening to her,” said the “Stepmom” star.

The hosts quickly jumped to their own defense. A “View” spokesman wouldn’t comment on Sarandon’s appearance, but gossipers at Datalounge.com were having a field day discussing the suddenly unwelcome guest.

“Cat fight!” declared one.

“How would [Sarandon] feel the next time she was making the talk show rounds to plug her next movie and Jay Leno said, ‘How can you sit here and talk about “Bull Durham II” when people are suffering in Burma?’ ” noted another.

“It’s hard to look down your nose at a system that enriches you and to which you contribute.”
MSNBC.

Civil rights in Burma? Susan, really.

I really feel awful for Sir Paul. I thought when he threw her ring off the balcony in Miami that he had finally come to his senses.

I saw a segment about Heather Mills on 20/20 and I watched in horror. This girl is a gold digger and has been around the block a couple hundred times. She has lived with or married many men all over the world. I kept thinking " Oh I hope Paul is seeing this, he will drop her like a hot potato".

Paul's daughters can't stand her and she has said very unkind things about Stella. Stella offered to design her wedding gown, but Heather said that he clothes look ' tarty'. Sure Heather, and that crop top and skirt slit up to your hoohaa was classy at the Oscars.

I take it the 20/20 segment was not flattering then?

Just how many times has this little chickie-baby Heather been married?
Sir Paul run, don't walk to the nearest exit.

It was very unflattering. She left home at a young teenager and I think she lived on the streets for awhile. She then hooked up and I believe married a weathly guy in Switzerland who was in his 50s and his kids were all older than her. It was a huge string of men, drugs, booze and money. I will see if I can find anything about it online. I just sat there with my mouth open thinking that this girl is bad news.

I mean she has Paul dying his hair and he got a facelift for pete's sake!

20/20 on Heather Mills

I will give a synopsis of the parts that blew me away.

At 21 Heather married a successful businessman named Alfie. He had been her boyfriend for 6 years ( since she was 15). She became stepmother to his two sons, although their marriage would soon come to an abrupt end. One year later, you went to a ski resort in Yugoslavia, fell in love with a ski instructor named Milosh (ph). Left Alfie and moved in with Milosh. She then left Milosh and took up with a new boyfriend, who was with her in 93 when she was run over by a motorcycle and lost her leg.

So from 91 - 93 she got married, left that husband, took up with a ski instructor, left him, got a new guy......

She started the land mine charity and met Paul and the rest is history. I know that I read somewhere about her getting a lot of money from a man that she was living with and the kids hated her. It was either in another bio or the 20/20 transcipt has been edited.

Actually, your petard reference has provided an opportunity for education. As a mom, I try to seize upon teachable moments.

Main Entry: pe·tard Pronunciation: p&-'tär(d) Function: noun Etymology: Middle French, from peter to break wind, from pet expulsion of intestinal gas, from Latin peditum, from neuter of peditus, past participle of pedere to break wind; akin to Greek bdein to break wind Date: 1598 1 : a case containing an explosive to break down a door or gate or breach a wall 2 : a firework that explodes with a loud report

Main Entry: hoise Pronunciation: 'hoiz Function: transitive verb Inflected Form(s): hoised /'hoizd/; or hoist /'hoist/; hois·ing /'hoi-zi[ng]/ Etymology: alteration of hysse to hoist, perhaps from Low German hissen Date: 1509 : HOIST - hoist with one's own petard : victimized or hurt by one's own scheme

Her whole life story seems to be on her website heathermills.org

Check out her achievements:

Heather has been given many accolades and awards. Former Prime Minister John Major presented her with the Gold Award for Outstanding Achievement; The Times presented her with their Human Achievement Award, and the British Chamber of Commerce not only named her Outstanding Young Person of the Year, but also named an award after her - the Heather Mills Award. If this was not enough, in 1996 she received a nomination for The Nobel Prize and has since received the 1999 "People of the Year Award", The "Cosmopolitan Woman of Achievement 2000 Award", The "Pantene Spirit of Beauty Award" and the "Woman of the Year" by the Blue Drop Group in Sicily as well as lots more. In September Heather will be collecting the "REDBOOK Mother & Shakers Award" which will be presented by Hillary Clinton (Last years receiver was Erin Brockovich), and then in November she will be receiving the Victory Award hosted by the National Rehabilitation Hospital in Washington DC

Redbook mother and shakers award? Did I miss something? Does she have children? Maybe Hillary will wear her Oscar DelaRenta batwing gown for the presentation.

Has everyone seen the latest photos of bj in Ireland? EWWWW! Pity the poor woman (women) that get close to that. That herpes is flaring up again, it looks like. How convenient that his "work" has taken him to Ireland just in time for this wedding.

And don't get me started on the foolishness of Paulie to hook up with this one. The day's not long enough! He must have lost his mind years ago.

Anyway here's x42 with the rock star. More photos at the original link posted on the thread.
