This summer Uncle Swervie, next summer Uncle Horsie, the summer after that, Uncle Ratty. On second thought, maybe 2 summers will do the trick. By then they should be promising to be really good ....forever!
I am reminded of the 'coming of age' rituals used by some of the Southwestern US Indian tribes, where they would give the boys a handful of peyote buttons, and send them off into the desert for a week or so, so that they could 'find themselves.'
Hmmm...

That was just my family's nickname for me. Strangers usually settled for carrot top or freckleface.... never angel or princess. *LOL*

I am sorry to hear that the man was killed but I am glad his wife is going to be alright. Sad story. I wish we could make swift work of these terrorist types. Until we do, no decent people in the world will be safe. Is there anything these people fear?

How much did the tribe charge to adopt you when you begged?

*L* Are you still wandering the desert, too? Isn't your 40 years up yet?

*L* Are you still wandering the desert, too? Isn't your 40 years up yet? I began the quest in '63, so I guess I will find the campfire again next year.

I will say this much, and nothing more, but if you have the mental fortitude to eat an hallucinagen, while alone out in the wilderness, you WILL gain a new perspective on life, and it will change your perception of nature. For the better.
To: gratefulwharffratt
I didn't know that's what fortitude meant. I already like nature.

Don't worry Swervie, They thought John The Baptist was crazy too. He liked the wilderness better than the human corrals.

Forever the optimist, aren't you Swervie??

"if you have the mental fortitude to eat an hallucinagen, while alone out in the wilderness, you WILL gain a new perspective on life, and it will change your perception of nature. For the better." I would agree with that, and that's all I'm going to say.
