Angry neighbors get sex offender away from school
GOLD BAR -- Residents angry that a sex offender was living across the street from an elementary school raised a cry of protest, and their voices were heard. Authorities managed to find Gregory Lynn Mason a new place to live -- at least temporarily -- last night. Snohomish County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Jan Jorgensen said her office took the community's concerns seriously and made sure he would not return to the Gold Bar house.
About 20 people gathered yesterday evening in front of Mason's home, which is across the street from the schoolyard of Gold Bar Elementary School. It was the second day of picketing aimed at driving Mason from the neighborhood. "We as parents need to band together and take more initiative in our communities," said Chris Minder, whose son is a kindergartner at the school. "We moved out here, not only because it's beautiful, but because it was safe."
Mason pleaded guilty in November to molesting a young girl who lived next door to him -- not in the same place he lives now -- between 1998 and 2000. She was 5 when the abuse began.
Community members said authorities should have been more aggressive in notifying them that a sex offender was moving into their town. Wendy Cathcart said she worked with Mason's victim's mother, who told her that Mason was back in town. "It (notification) shouldn't have to come from the victim's mother," Cathcart said.
Mason received a sentencing alternative given to some first-time sex offenders. It required him to spend six months in jail and then meet various conditions, including completing treatment that takes a minimum of three years. If he falls short on any of the conditions, he would go to prison for his suspended prison term of about five years.
Snohomish County Superior Court Judge George Bowden ordered him to have no contact with the girl, along with two others who, according to Sutton, were possible victims. The judge also ordered Mason to "not frequent areas where minor children are known to congregate."
Mason was released from jail May 13....

A 15-month-old boy escaped without serious harm after falling from a second-story window onto concrete yesterday afternoon, authorities said. He was flown by helicopter from his home in suburban Sammamish to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he was found to have no serious injuries.

You have to mix the asprins up in a Coke if you want a real rush. Diet Pepsi and Asprin will only make your headache better. And it has to be real "Bayer" asprin. Off brands and generics don't work.
