AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 499) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | June 4, 2002 | All of Us

Posted on 06/04/2002 4:58:35 AM PDT by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

Sorry for the lateness of the thread this morning. For awhile, FR did not seem it wanted to allow posting of articles to "General Interest."

The New York Times is at it again, trying to take down the President a notch or two. They ran a story saying Egypt's President Mubarrak told the United States that Al Qa'eda "was in the advance stages of executing a significant operation against an American target," leaving the insinuation the President knew enough about 9/11 to prevent it.

China's President Zemin will try and meet with the leaders of both India and Pakistan at the upcoming Asian Summit in an attempt to defuse the crisis in the region.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

I made it to E-5, and I KNOW someone made a mistake.

You are right, I am picky. I screwed up fried chicken the weekend Trill was gone. I HATE that.

Everything I make is for the nurturing of some child of God, even if it's just for me. Therefore, I want my offering to the Lord to be my very best effort. Cooking (feeding people) really is a sacrament to me.

I try to show the bratling what I am looking for when I cook. When making bread, I start with a cereal bowl full of 105F water, and add my sugar, salt, yeast and oil. Bratling watches carefully to see how much I use. When I add the flour, she feels the texture that I am looking for, and sees the smoothness on the surface of the dough when the gluten has developed. She is encouraged to make mistakes. That is the only way to learn.

E-4?

Four stripes? I reckon that would be a SSGT, or TSGT?

Man... ite been a long time.

My last base was Malmstrom in Great Falls, but did a wonderful stint out in Shemya AFB, via the Aleautian Islands.

(Must have been that late night out with the Base Commander's daughter that got me assigned to Shemya.... Whoops!)

Canes 3
Detroit 2

FINAL SCORE!

An OT victory for the Canes! Who'd have ever thunk there would be an NHL team in NC, much less one competing for the Stanley Cup ..... and winning the first game.

Congrats on the Canes winning! (hockey?) Just doing a drive-by waving this evening. I had my sister's youngest son (5 years old) over the weekend, and he is high-maintenance. Good kid, just needs attention all the time... And my grandma is back at my parents' house for the month of June, so I sat with her this evening and taught the five year old nephew to play Rook with grandma. Three hours of card-playing, not my cup of tea.

And now I am at home, girding myself up for another day of work. There is some dissension in the ranks with new managament, I have given them 6 months, and then will look for a transfer. Others have decided that a face-to-face confrontation is necessary right now, I gracefully (I hope) declined to be part of it. I am not good at confrontation, there was a mess left behind and the new managers have to clean it up, and I will give them that opportunity to do so.

Prayers to all those who need them, and to those who think they don't, mine are going up for you anyway. :)

Thunderstorms may be heading this way ...... I say "may" because time after time, it looks like they can't miss .... and they do. We desperately need the rain and can't get any, while other places are flooded ..... :-(

Anyway, in case I have to shut down the computer in a hurry, I'm going to go ahead and do the link and put the coffee on.

And last but not least, what kind of a man displays his doll collection on QVC? I had the TV on while I was fixing dinner, and it was on QVC. And Richard Simmons was displaying his doll collection...Yikes. Double yikes.

And I have enjoyed watching the Golden Jubilee for Queen Elizabeth. PBS has had a couple of programs on about her mother, the Queen Mum and father, King George VI, very interesting history. I wasn't aware of much of it. Just one question, where was Prince Charles this morning for the ceremony??? I kept looking for him and Camilla, and never did spot them. I did see Prince William and Prince Harry. Say what you like about Princess Diana, but she gave good looks back to the royal line.

Good to hear from you ..... I was beginning to get concerned. Yes, 5 year-olds are high maintenance ..... they really keep you on your toes ....:-)

..... our family doctor told me once that I should be thankful that my kids were so active and inquisitive .... it meant they were very bright!

Prayers for your situation at work! .... and *hugs*

I shall assume that is a rhetorical question that does not require an answer ...... my opinion of RS, at least the one I can put into words, is ICKY-POO!!!!! BIG TIME!!!

You're right about the Royal Family. Prince Philip was quite handsome and Prince Charles' younger brothers are good-looking but poor Charles lost out in that department.

Eric is bright and inquisitive and bossy. He's at my mom's house now for the balance of the week, my sister and husband are on a cruise, and will be back on Friday.

I guess my rhetorical question should have been, what kind of a man has a doll collection (and is willing to display it.) I like your choice of words, icky-poo. It is just interesting to me how many gay men take on exaggerated characteristics of women, everything is sooo over the top. Anyway, I am off to bed. I am proctoring a woman at work for her master's degree, the first test is to be given tomorrow, and she has 2.5 hours to take it in. I think my leisure time just went bye-bye. Hopefully, I will get a chance to post tomorrow, if not, I am thinking of you all...

I made it all the way up to SGT (E-5)...I was actually promoted to Spec 5, then they soon after did away with that rank and made all Spec 5's SGT's....
