It isn't like this refereeing is a new phenomenon - The Bulls benefited from the "Sixth Man in Stripes" for years. All that remains is for Shaq to bite off Webber's ear. What a joke.

I think game 7 will be fair. The NBA wants an honest championship

Don't count on it. Regardless of what Stern may want (and what he cares about is marketing Kobe/Shaq/Carter) the star system accorded by refs will never allow for "fair" series. Until folks start realizing Mark Cuban is dead right, and refs need to have accountability, the game will continue as a joke.

A toast to the Laker referees and Laker fans who are proud of their tainted victory. Wonder if the Lakers will get 100 foul shots Sunday to ensure they win? Can you say "prearranged"? Cheese and whine are too "L.A." for me. I'll stick with meat and potatoes honesty.

It is sad, really sad. I've been way way turned off by basketball. I am tired of this 'gangsta thuggery we see from sooo many teams, like the Lakers. It is refreshing to see a team like the Kings come around that can win with skill and finesse, and not just brute strength in the paint.

Hey, Bozo. You misquoted me. This is what I said about the potential Lakers-CELTICS matchup, NOT the Kings:

"I don't believe it will go 7. The Celtics haven't faced the kind of competition the Lakers have, nor do they have the playoff experience."

Here is what I said about the Kings series five days ago:

"The proof is in the pudding. What have the Kings done lately? They are an excellent team, but the world is whole lot different in the playoffs. They may even take the Lakers to 7 games, but can they win 4 games against the Lakers? Honestly, I don't think it's possible, unless the Lakers continue to settle for 3 point shots and don't run their offense as designed. It's simple. If the Lakers are patient and run their offense with average production, they win. Why? Because their defense is stifling. And it really impacts the game at the end especially. DEFENSE wins championships."

Do you think:

1. allowing Webber to hit the ball out of bounds and then give it to the Kings;

2. allowing Webber to knock Fisher on the ground during a moving screen to free Bibby for his final shot; and

3. allowing Jackson to undress Kobe and hold his arm, preventing him from driving and disrupting his shot

was enough to win Game 5 for the Kings?

Don't whine to me about fouls that should have been called in any game in this series.

"Also, the defensive player (Bibby) needs to give the offensive player enough room to move.."

"That is totally incorrect. If the offensive player has jumped up or is in mid stride and on the move, then the defensive player must allow the finish of the move. If the offensive player is standing still as bryant was, then you can get as close as you want. Finally, this call was made before when bryant elbowed him in the face and christie was whistled in game 4. Further, bryant's elbowing in both cases was not accidental. I've played probably 8000 games of pick up basketball in the last 40 years and we basketball players, especially guards, have wonderful and exact body control. I remember one case where a girl was playing and I was shooting a jumper and she undercut my lower body. As I was coming down, my elbow was going to land on her head and while I could have moved it. I convieniently let it stay there and clunked her. No, the bryant elbows are no accident. His reaction times and body control are way too good for that"

I've got news for you. The defensive player enters the offensive player's space at his own risk. If Bibby, or anyone else, puts his arms in a bear hug around any of the player's waist and the offensive players swings his arms, there's no way Bibby's going to get the call. It's either a non-call or a defensive foul.

Put the bong down...

No bong here bud. When I say better team, I mean that the Laker's have two extremely talented players. They either carry the Laker's or they don't. Whereas the Kings have many players that contribute mightily. I'd rather watch cutters getting behind the back passes than Shaq slamming the ball home when he gets it. Also, it was scandalous to call a foul on Pollard every time Shaq got the ball. Go King's. I would have the same opinion if I was in a drug induced coma. The only explanation I coul have to prefer the Laker's would be mental retardation.

You are smoking weed. I don't care how aesthetically pleasing Shaq is to you, the bottom line is "Just win, Baby". If you want aeshetically pleasing, Kobe's got the most pleasing moves on the planet. The best TEAM always wins the championships. By the way, the Lakers have already proven they were the best TEAM the last two years.

By the way, Pollard couldn't carry Shaq's jock strap, let alone take him one on one. There's a reason he's constantly called for fouls - he doesn't have a clue what to do with a man that's 100 pounds heavier.

Maybe the Lakers would have already won by game 5 if Refs were honest?

I think no matter who wins, the refs ruined the whole thing already.

Congratulations to the Kings on today's likely win. LA's refs missed their plane, as their seeing eye dogs were suddenly hospitalized with distemper, and had to be replaced by some impartial ones! Oh no! Just a dream...the Lakers are the anointed ones and will get the calls again today. NBA=corrupt.

Vlade was awarded more flops in game 5 than he was in ALL HIS YEARS AS A LAKER.

Game 5 was given to the Kings.

It would just be nice for Refs to be clean.

Kings up by two at the half. HMMMMMMMMMMM. Suspense building for a potential upset of the Lakers? Nah, Stern's stooges will show their loyalty in the second half. Watch the calls, and follow the money. The Anointed Thugs (Ones) will win by hook or by crook. To borrow a previous quote attributed to Shack, "Just Win Baby'". NBA= corruption.
