if they did they would ALSO report all the teachers and or minister of other religions that abuse children .. the are going after to the church because of 2 reasons .. one is to knock the church down and second it is for ratings

Child molesting, Catholic, protestant or school teacher is small potatoes to the media, a two day story.

It's not the child molesting that causes the big stink, It's the cover up. Once you get caught covering up, you have to go, whether you are President Nixon, or Cardinal Law. The uproar in the press will not stop until everyone in the hierarchy who had anything to do with covering up is out.

Yes, they do, and if they get caught at it it will make a big local story that won;t go away till the administrators are gone. The Catholic Church scandal is a National Story because the church is national, not local.

No organization likes to have to clean house, and no organization will do it unless their feet are held to the fire. If the press backs off at all on the Catholic Scandal, the Cardinals will just sweep it under the rug and do nothing. That is what they are trying to do now. Every single story published has been necessary to get what change has been made.

I know that Catholics resent the broad brush being used by the media. Republicans resented the broad brush used against Nixon that damaged all republicans, but the only way to stop it was to force him out.

Rep. Congressman Peter King has a new book out "Deliver Us From Evil" on the scandal and what he wants other Catholics to join him in doing to clean house.
