AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 475) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | May 10, 2002 | All of Us

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail! [President Bush]

Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

A large iceberg fell into the ocean off of Antarctica. It is 10 times the size of Manhattan. Activists claim the event is due to global warming. What they do not analyze is whether the event could be due to ice sheet expansion - which is equally likely.

AOL bonds have been reduced in grade to only one level above "junk" status.

The Palestinians have left the Church of the Nativity. European nations that have agreed to take Palestinians exiled as a result of the agreement ending the siege call the act a "humanitarian gesture" and have indicated the men will not be put in prison.

In Israel, military reservists were called up and tanks were poised outside the Gaza Strip. The Palestinian Authority arrested 16 members of Hamas - the group that claimed credit for the pool hall bombing.

Meanwhile, another bomb went off in the Jewish State, near a bank in Beersheva. Several were wounded, but no deaths.

And Great Britain's Prime Minister announced there will be no attack on Iraq without UN consent.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Hi lysander. The word allegedly sounds to me like there is a whole lot of doubt to the accusations,by the reporter. And yes, will they play the race card??? I hate the word too.

Molly, I found out I pulled a hip flexor. Been off TKD for a week and feel zero better. Hurts to stand, sit, turn, and bend. But I know it'll get better eventually. Better hurry up though, as I am eating non-stop while I am stuck in a slow gear.

Today they will be touring the Dutch and Flemish galleries of the National Gallery in London, including a discussion with the curator of those collections. There is a special exhibit of the Dutch landscape painter Albert Cuyp.

They also will tour the Whitehall Banqueting House to see the Reubens ceiling and architecture by Inigo Jones.

They then are free for the rest of the afternoon. Since they are near Parliament and Westminster Abbey, I imagine she will go see those places.

The Daily Update – May 10, 2002

REMEMBER THE TRADE CENTER!!

AMERICA’S WAR ON TERROR – Day 242

The news as reported in The Washington Times:

[Note – All links go to The Washington Times’ website.]

1. Israel masses tanks outside the Gaza Strip.

[Something in all of this doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. The Palestinians harbor terrorist organization’s, such as Hamas. These organizations detonate a bomb in Israel fully knowing Israel will react. Israel does react and commits enormous damage and deprivation in Palestinian areas. Yet these groups continue, and the Palestinian people don’t seem to realize it is to their ruin.]

War looms over Gaza

2. A federal appeals Court has ruled President Bush’s nominee for the Civil Rights Commission should be seated.

[Is this a trend? Will Republicans need the courts to require demonflops to acknowledge all Constitutionally-based processes? Then again, why am I amazed? Algore, in his first act after the election in his effort to try and become President rhetorically shredded the very document he would have had to swear to uphold and protect.]

Bush pick wins suit for rights panel seat

3. President Bush has started looking beyond Yassir Arafat to find someone to rule Palestine.

[Good plan!]

White House eyes changes in Palestinian leadership

4. A book is being distributed at the UN Child Summit. The book was produced by UNICEF and actually encourages children to engage in sexual activities with other minors, homosexuals, and animals.

[This is beyond too far! Why do we continue to participate in such travesties to human dignity? Why do we continue to participate in the UN when it is so inimical to American values?]

Child sex book given out at U.N. summit

5. In a first-ever move, the US Chamber of Commerce has decided to take on a state for anit-business practices. The target is Mississippi. The complaint is the state has become a haven for excessive lawsuits and massive jury awards.

[It’s high time the fight was returned! Excellent!!]

Chamber of Commerce battles with Mississippi

6. The governor of the People’s Republic of Maryland has put further executions on hold until it can be determined the death penalty is not being unfairly applied to minorities.

[Let’s reference the New Jersey Turnpike Authority study on speeding. Blacks contended they were cited for speeding because they were black. The double-blind study showed blacks were getting speeding tickets more often than other groups because they were speeding more often than other groups. So, could it be that blacks are on death row proportionally more often than other groups because they, in fact, commit more of the heinous crimes requiring the punishment? Hmmmm……]

Glendening puts hold on Maryland executions

7. DC Police Chief Few has said inaccuracies in his resume exist only in a version produced by the Mayor’s office.

[Yep. It’s not my fault.]

Few blames false resume on City Hall

We shall not rest until we have cut a swath 60-miles wide through the entire left - taking all that is before us with us as we go. We shall leave nothing to the enemy that may be of value to him. We shall show him that he may count on nothing and will be able to keep nothing, not his spirit, not his soul, not that upon which he shall feed. We shall not cease until the moment we have rent through their entire land and have arrived at the sea, with our glorious victory upon us.

No, he did not announce it. It is one of those "unnamed sources" stories put out by the British papers that act like the New York Times.

Not exactly.

From the UK Independent:

The actor Tony Robinson, a member of the NEC, said in a report of the meeting circulated to grassroots Labour activists: "I think most NEC [Labour's ruling National Executive Committee] members were to some extent reassured by [Blair's] response, particularly his categorical statement that he won't do anything without UN backing or consultation with our European allies. My own impression was that he was implying that a large part of the bellicose rhetoric currently flying around is being deployed in order to get Saddam to the negotiating table." [Emphasis added.]

ABG - Red Sox beat Oakland last night, so they got the weekend off to a good start!! Is Manny happier than he was last year??

kassie, you don't mention any pain medication...hope you are feeling better soon, too!

lysander - One of the children was about 15, and the other several years younger, about 10, so their ages may have saved their lives, I'm thinking....

Jane - that sounds like a full and exciting schedule...

Later....

These are tough times to be a liberal. The President continues to have approval ratings that x42 could only dream about.

Well, they've now taken a new tact on how to deal with the high approval ratings the President has garnered, in large measure because of his conduct of the war on terror.

They simply declared the war over.

From your article on Carville:

"[Carville] is going to remind us that post-war approval ratings mean nothing..." said state Democratic spokeswoman Serena Torrey.... [Emphasis added.]

Every single one of x42's enablers has been discarded when they have worn out their usefulness to him. I don't know why the unions thought they were the exception to the rule.

Got your new computer all worked out??

Not quite yet. I can do all the stuff I need to do, but I am still getting all the files in the right place.

Manny is apparently quite happy, and while the Sox are flying high now, the infamous June Swoon could happen at any time. Like Greenspan, I'm not getting excessively jubilant, but remain cautiously optimistic.

Okay...almost...

One more thing just remembered...

William and I were watching the news yesterday afternoon....

the Skakel trial came up, and my son noted:

I'm so tired of hearing about those Kennedys and their relations...All they ever do is kill people! Won't they ever go away!!???

[Not bad for an FR-like rant, eh??]

To which, I replied, hard-hearted as I am,

HA! You won't get any sympathy from me....I've had to put up with them twice as long as you!!!

He understood and expressed understanding...LOL!

I'm still trying to figure out why the Saints fired their GM yesterday. All the guy did was revive a franchise ravaged by Mike Ditka's Reign of Error. And, to top it off, the owner pulled a Jerry Jones and named himself GM. That's really gonna help boost those sagging ticket sales.

With that, you've reminded me of something else:

the pathetic Brewers and their record!

And who owns the Milwaukee Brewers???

The same guy who runs baseball!

Yikes!!!

Well, you have a point. I didn't see that.

However, I think my point about the UN still stands.
