Drug abuse is in competition with Jesus for the hearts and souls of young people --- you've chosen your side, and I've chosen mine. I know the Enemy in its many forms. It takes strength of character to battle temptations... and the power of the Holy Spirit. But being high invites other spirits in.... and lowers resistance to other temptations, too.

OK, now that Jesus is in play I'd like to say that his battle is with Satan. Satan has many weapons from which to choose and drug abuse is only one of them.

Ratty is not on Satan's side - he is trying to say how far our country, and its people have slid into collective-think since the days of our founders. Those guys battled the demons of their day, but they knew that at the heart and sould of America should be the Individual's God given right to make his own choices and to live with the consequences without the interference of government.

It seems to me that you two are arguing different sides of the same coin: when government took the place of the church, the mother and father, the teaching in the home, and the individual's right to do as he pleased as long as it didn't hurt another's life or property - we are collectively, and individually screwed. bbl

I NEVER said that drugs were a GOOD thing. All I said was that Government prohibition of them was a BAD thing, and that the Church is the place to turn to, for help with addictions.

They care only because no one likes to be yelled at or caught in their lies. Other than that, they don't care. Getting high climbs higher on their priority list, and I sink lower. I'm an annoyance.

The whole priest-child thing is because Leftists infiltrated the Church. If the Leadership of the Church had punted them out when they were originally discovered, there would be no issue now.

It is the Churches' job to help people who ask the Church for help. Like addicted people will do, when they are ready to resolve their problems. Do you not have faith in the very religion that you use so often, to advocate controlling everyone else??

I don't believe that goverment has any right to be in my bedroom, my doctor's office, my church or my property unless it's there to put out a fire or drag off a robber's dead body. And they don't have the right to establish their stupid public schools and tax my ass to death to pay for them.

I don't use "religion" to advocate my control over people. I just said there is competition for the hearts of people. If we can outlaw murder of adults and children, surely we can outlaw murder of innocent babies?
