What's the solution? Teach kids how much Ecstacy is a lethal dose?

At last... a sensible idea. Assuming your dosage recommendations are accompanied by info on how harmful it is to your body, that is.

The government should be the teacher of this great knowledge? And the regulator and taxer of the goods, too? Like the Washington State Liquor Stores..... beer and wine can be sold in groery stores, but the hard stuff is only sold through the state (or on Indian reservations - along with cigarettes tax-free, and gambling) competing with the stae government liquor sales, cigarette profits and lottery scam.

Sadly enough, that wouldn't be such a surprise.

Are you saying "progress" hasn't been made in the development and distribution of drugs and their dangers since 1913?

I am sure that people who love to impose their ideas on others using political force would feel that MUCH progress had been made. And the Leftist Politicos who use that 'group vs. group' issue to gain even more power at the Federal level... well, they are probably tickled pink.

I fail to see how reducing the rights of the Individual, especially by trampling all over the Bill of Rights, can be considered 'Progress.'

This is sad. Racing Legend Seattle Slew Dies The story has an error, they say Slew was the only living Triple Crown winner. If I'm not mistaken Secretariat is still alive and still standing at stud.

Legalization of drugs would give the Government MORE control and money -- they would regulate and tax the whole process, and then sue the manufacturers when a certain number of people have died (states vs tobacco companies ring a bell?) People dealing outside their structured system would still be arrested. The war on drugs would continue - it would just be a war on the government's competitors in the drug biz.

Warning labels, and controlled distribution like the ABC stores we have here, would be a sensible way to regulate 'illegal' drug usage.

I am sure they could put a warning packet of information inside of whatever they sold.

I bought some peanut butter yesterday, and although more people died last year from allergic reactions to peanuts than HAVE EVER DIED FROM MARIJUANA (no one ever has), I was still able to purchase this deadly drug without any guidance or prohibition from the State.

Surely, your NEXT Crusade will be against the Evil peanut butter, won't it??

Secretariat has been dead for several years. Seattle Slew was the only living Triple Crown winner.

How fitting:
The big, black stallion's death came on the 25th anniversary of his Kentucky Derby victory.

You can lead a neo-Collectivist to Individualist thoughts, but you can't make her think.

Hey y'all. I only got about 10 minutes. I'm on my lunch hour and I had to wait for some idiot to vacate a terminal. Sheesh. Some people just have no respect for the sanctity of FReeping!

Very clever to mention only the zero deaths from marijuana in your quest to legalize ALL drugs.... what are the death tolls of heroin and cocaine and even the relative newcomer, Ecstasy? I love to debate, but be an honest adversary. I already called this tactic posts and posts ago.

She's way ahead of you in the thinking department... it's too late to make me think, I'm deep in thought already.
Of course, more than thought piles up pretty deep around here.

But if it was Tiny Tommy or Gore the Bore, do you think they would be called extremely left wing....NOOOOOOO!

My quest is NOT to legalize all drugs. My 'Quest' as you put it, is to STOP neo-Collectivists (You) from limiting Individual's (Me) rights. It can't be any more plainly said.

Why not go back to the level of regulation imposed in 1910??

Do you not trust the Individual, Val??
