Some of the most committed and scripturally knowledgeable people I have ever known have been Episcopalians and Catholics, neither of which do you normally think of that way, which goes to show that there has been consideralbe revival in the church at many levels. On the other hand, there are those who figure if they pay their pew rent and show up twice a year it guarantees salvation and they have no need of knowing anything because that's what they pay the priest for. But both churches are filled with people between the 2 extremes. I have been in all kinds of churches, alive and dead, of different denominations, and I prefer alive. A priest we used to have always said "the church is a hospital for sinners, not a museum for saints." I like that. It says a lot.

Too bad. It would seem you have so much to confess....

Yes, but never with enough specificity to support an indictment

"This one didn't though we were fairly high church, and I was an Altar Boy"

You just proved my point, however the order for confession IS in the prayer book. Of course, I could say something about "altar boys" but I will leave that to Ratty. He is so much better at those kinds of things. Besides, they have girls now too. My daughter was an acolyte.

I think they are supposed to be molested by the Choir Master instead of the Priest

"I think they are supposed to be molested by the Choir Master instead of the Priest"

At certain times that would have been me! At other times the wife of our priest. No, I don't think so. I cannot even imagine myself molesting being interested in a boy man young enough to be my child. I can't see the attraction personally.

Yes, I like that description, too. Our former priest is a very bright, articulate man, he is very strict, a real stickler for detail and tradition. He strongly encouraged active community involvement among all parishioners and commited our church to many needed and worthwhile programs. Under his approx 11 year tenure our membership nearly tripled, all our original debts/mortgages were retired and three more large building projects were planned, completed and paid off. He is ambitious and I always felt that everything he did he did with an eye toward becoming, at the very least, a Bishop. :)

Our Fr. Scott (his first name) retired probably about 8 years ago. He was a a godly man and a true shepherd of the people. He never aspired to be other than he was, but because he was SO good at it, he was very much in demand as a spiritual leader. I really hated seeing him retire, but he certainly earned it.

FOFL. Yeah, that's what I'd call you.... anti-social. BTW, one of us can't add. When I added up your points I came up with a different total.

OMG. Sumptin must be broken. :) Actually, it also indicates you're clever, gifted, talented. You're extremely loyal and expect loyalty in return. All that's true of you. Of course, it says you're modest. LOL.

Oh, I see the problem..... In the answers you freeped to me you listed #8 twice and when I added them up it made for a 2 point difference. I just freeped the list you sent back to you. :)
