Criminy. Missed you again. Came back to say something to our MO about her Church. I meant to earlier, but didn't know if it was the thing to do, or not. Still don't know, but am gonna give it a go.
To: sweetliberty

I thought you'd like that.

However, unlike the Roman Catholic church, it is NOT essential or required. I would go so far as to say that many Episcopalians do not even know that it exists. Actually I'm not a big fan of confessions either .. personally I feel kind of stupid doing them .. but they are part of the rules
Like I said .. I'm not a good catholic

Hehehe...these two statements used together could be misconstrued...or at the very least interpreted as a warning to friends to bring children to visit you at their own risk. That was my thought too .. hehe

Now MO, I am Baptist. Can't pretend to know a whole lot about Catholic things. To me, what has been happening in your Church is the same thing that has over taken the whole world. In an organization that size, there is bound to be a few bad apples. Throw in that progressive, liberal movement of the 60's, plus the Christian thing of "forgiveness," and it makes a real mess. Those in leadership, who try to improve things, sometimes don't. I think this is a case of that. :) I know I'm not getting across what I'd like to, but, not very good at this. One of your Popes put it like this. (Can't remember which one said this.) The devil moved into the Vatican in the 60's. Makes sense to me. That is when most of these movements to leave tradition, and the Bible behind, began. It's not easy to walk in love and try to straighten out a devilish mess, at the same time. To me, that is what your Pope ( I really like that guy), is doing. His attempts to get his Church back on track began long before this current scandel hit.

does a promotion really send the best message? I am assuming a post at the Vatican is a promotion in the church. No it's not a promotion .. it is a way for Law to bowel out gracefully and give up his post in Boston
But I am sure the media will put their spin on it

If you ever want to see a real blood bath, come to the Baptist church when we are trying to elect a new Organist. :)
To: Mo1
Heck, it's been years since I did a private confession. I don't even remember what it was for now. I could venture a guess but I am sure the reality would be far less entertaining for certain males individuals here than what their imaginations could conjure up, so I think I will let them have their little fantasies. *Giggle*
To: Mo1
I hope what I tried to say helps somewhat. There is so much good the Catholics do, it's hard to see them go through this. To have that internal turmoil and pain aired before the whole world, makes it so much worse.
To: sweetliberty
LOL. Okay, I'm gone again. Late for everything I must do today. :(
To: Letitring
It is very sad that many mainstream denominations have wandered off from the scriptures and the way of truth and godliness. I suspect that is why the outcropping of independent gospel churches that have been growing and spreading like wildfire since the 70's. When the Bible starts being diluted, or worse, changed, it gets to be much like the church version of Clintonese..."depends on what the meaning of sin is." Besides, church without the Bible is like a man without....oh never mind! I AM being bad today!
To: celtic gal
did Val and Mo snap you with that wonderbra? I told them to quit playing with it! No such luck. The "ouch" was in response to you escaped con story...
