Etymology: Middle English, from Old English dohtig; akin to Old High German toug is useful, Greek teuchein to make. Date: before 12th century

I realize it does not take much doughtiness to laugh at Al Gore, but I found
this description of his ongoing slide into Pat Paulson-ville too delightful to ignore. The Disneyland analogies were particularly entertaining, but I'm disappointed he didn't follow them to their logical conclusion and call himself Goofy.
