The Emerald Isle, Crystal Coast looks great.... (I'm still surfing the links you posted) I've seen the Pacific Ocean lots of times, but this will be my first time to see the Atlantic.

*L* The Panhandle and LA might have to wait for another trip, another time.

I see Dirty Dick's Crab House -- the boys will want that T-shirt.

I see Dirty Dick's Crab House -- the boys will want that T-shirt. That shirt might get them arrested in Waco.

*L* Nah, Waco is not tame. A Baylor student might try to steal the shirt, though.

Waco is not tame. A Baylor student might try to steal the shirt, though. When I was in college, the Wimmin's Dorms at Baylor had an 8:00 PM weeknight curfew and an midnight weekend curfew.

It's been years since we were down at the Outter Banks but if I recall we went further up the island and there were these horses/ponies that ran wild up there .. You know, you're right. I never see them so I don't think about them. But there are horses up near the Virginia border that sometimes get over into the Backbay Wildlife Refuge and False Cape State Park on the Virginia side. They're probably coming from near Corolla.

oh boy -- eleven destinations in 15 days. Fun.

My freshman year in college we had a 10pm weeknight curfew, 11pm on Friday night and 1am on Saturday night. LOL. I think it changed by my sophmore year.

I may have planned too leisurely of a pace, but I'm not going to do the 800-950 mile days that I'm used to on previous trips. Most of these days planned are under 300 miles except for the last leg on the way home, and that's less than 600 miles. I'll be able to stop and take pictures along the way - no problemo. If we see something interesting and unexpected, we can stop and explore.

I think it changed by my sophmore year. That demonstrates how much younger you are. Was that after you started having to have a permit to park a horse on campus?

Freshmen living on campus weren't allowed to have their own transportation. LOL. We also had a dress code, girls were not allowed to wear shorts or slacks except to/from PE classes or to sporting events. FOFL. The exception was the occasional snowfall.

Oh Heavens, I agree. 300 miles is plenty for one day. More than that and it stops being fun. You'd be too tired to enjoy yourself and you'd only be passing through places.

The kids started complaining about how boring this will be and I'm so mean to make them go -- then they talked to a few friends who were envious because they've never been anywhere - so my boys are changing their tune now.
To: Servant of the Nine
*L* Okay, I'm done with the trip planning for now. Must rest my brain.

Since you have one going into the Marines, you might as well hit Parris Island while going through South Carolina

and ruin the surprise???
To: Servant of the Nine
He's the one who is staying home - and he'll go to boot camp in San Diego... so we get to skip Parris Island.
To: null and void
